Brian Stelter is upset that Politico wasn’t allowed on Air Force One on Monday. He shouldn’t be. A plane seat isn’t a right, and Politico spent years using that seat to promote one party. The White House kept Politico off the plane for Trump’s trip to Nebraska. Politico was the assigned print pooler, the one reporter who files notes the rest of the print outlets share. Other outlets were offered the seat and declined it, so the trip had no primary print pooler. The Washington Post still flew as the secondary, and the TV pool was still on board. Trump was right to start this fight. He pulled the White House passes of Politico, CNN, and MS NOW because those outlets spent years promoting one party. A judge ordered the building access restored. The administration says that order doesn’t cover the plane, and CNN has already been kept off it on its own pool days. Biden never had to do this because the press pool was already on his side. The press buried the laptop story, falsely called Biden’s border secure, and kept his decline off the front page until a debate made it impossible. Stelter isn’t actually mourning a missing reporter from Air Force One. He’s mourning a guaranteed seat for an outlet that spent years using it against one party and not the other. I’m thankful that President Trump keeps calling out the activist media and reprimanding them. He’s doing all Americans a service with this, even those who don’t like him.
