complexity is a design decision
I have huge respect for C++ programmers. To be able to get actual work done while constantly fighting this much accidental complexity is unbelievable.

I'm working again on the paperwork to apply for a grant for raylib, listing tasks+cost to improve the library and its ecosystem. I'd like to hear some ideas from users! πŸ€” Tip: Maintenance is a serios concern. Warning: No, Vulkan/Metal support is not considered.

I’ve released EONDRIFT Singularity Protocol, a small anti-gravity racing game built with raylib and inspired by Wipeout and F-Zero. 6 stages, 8 pilots, and online mode. Still a work in progress. Any feedback is welcome. play.google.com/store/apps/d… #indiedev #raylib #gamedev

Replying to @neonxgone
About 5x faster to prototype right now with Unreal Engine and 10x with ThreeJS. Working to reverse the gap by year end.

Today I made two handles, one for an old hammer (that I also restored) and one for an old chisel with a broken one. All handmade, no power tools. I really enjoy working this way and the result feels really unique. πŸ’―

Hey! In a couple of weeks I'm participating as a panelist at @gamescomasia, to talk about open-source engines! πŸ”₯ Can open-source game engines be the next industry shift??? I'm sure you already know the answer! πŸ˜‰ If you come to the event, ask me for a #raylib sticker! πŸ˜„

I keep receiving those spam emails saying "all your data will be deleted..." and, sincerely, everyday I care less about it; actually, I doubt it's even possible to delete any data uploaded to the internet...

and sooner or later they will realize they need simplicity for maintainability and high performance to compensate slop + hardware costs... and AI will probably recommend to use #raylib.
(most) companies will custom build their software leading to some sort of future I cannot see other than.... More demand??

Imagine you could create your dream product in a blink of an eye... BUT to make it successful, you must support it for at least 5 years, full time, daily. Sincerely, would you really invest +5 years of your life on that product? Now stop imagining.

In my experience as a creator, I learned that whathever you do you must genuinely be passionate and enjoy the process, no matter the final goal. Chasing just that final goal is a road to perdition most of the times.

Just implemented a custom file-dialog/file-browser control for #raygui, 1000 locs, immediate-mode, handmade from scratch... Quite happy with the result, if only I was paid to work on this kind of things... unfortunately this art soon will be lost... like tears in the rain...

can it run doom? can it run raylib? can it run raylib doom? 😱
I ported the original #Doom (1993) code to #raylib, which allowed me to easily build it to many platforms like #Android, #AndroidXR, Meta Quest 3, #WebAssembly, #Omarchy , Ubuntu (x64 and arm64), Windows, MacOS (Apple Sillicon and intel) amongst others. Take a look at the binary releases and the source code on GitHub: github.com/raydelto/raylib_D… @raysan5 @romero @romerogamesltd @ID_AA_Carmack

Open-source is for millionaires who have enough money and looking for ways to achieve fulfilment in their life. Us, working class, don’t have the luxury to code for free.

I think is more important to understand where each of those values can be stored than the concept of a pointer on itself, that only refers to an address... that nowadays is mostly a fake address generated by the system
You either understand this or you’re a vibe coder πŸ™‚β€β†”οΈ

raylib was developed for many year on this device. 2GB DDR3L, 32GB eMMC, Intel HD Graphics... definitely overpowered for raylib! πŸ”₯
Every software developer should own a potato PC. It's the easiest way to ensure your application is fast enough. Put your agents to work within it and watch the weight drop. There's no reason a machine from ten years ago shouldn't fly like superman.
