Study of female surgeons finds they were passed over for surgical referrals, paid less for equivalent procedures and given less time in the operating room, They also had to use tools too large for their hands as surgical spaces & tools were built for men.

Men wonder why we started @WIMIN_UK when there are “so many women in medicine”. Yes at the start but not at the end & not in medico/politico/ academic roles. We become invisible as @RCPhysicians beautifully illustrate here ⬇️ Just RT until we make more noise it won’t change!

Impact of an appendicolith and its characteristics on the severity of acute appendicitis
➡️doi.org/10.1093/bjsopen/zrae…
This study reports a statistically significant association between a larger appendicolith diameter and complicated acute appendicitis, but no cut-off value for appendiceal diameter for the increased risk of complicated appendicitis could be determined and even in the group of patients with appendicoliths having a diameter of 1–3 mm almost half of the patients had complicated appendicitis.

I'm a Professor of Cardiology with 23 yrs clinical experience (11 as a consultant). I get invited all over the world to give lectures and teach and I'm involved in international guidelines for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
I would be a danger to patients working in primary care as a GP equivalent despite this experience. Someone with only a two years Masters and no medical training has no role seeing acutely unwell patients in Primary Care.

David Hampton planted douglas fir and larch trees in a forest in Oregon to resemble a face. Every autumn the larch pines turn orange and the smiley face stands out
The face is about 300 feet in diameter.
rope was used to measure the circle douglas fir was planted for the eyes and mouth and the rest of the face was filled out with larch. both species will eventually be harvested but will smile at least for the next 30-50 years
