For those waiting to hear about the Real Accent Apps. I’m still trying to secure their return via legal means from the person who stole them. Thought it would be solved soon but the court required new documentation so the wait continues. Thanks for your patience & kind messages.
More bad news. The ex-Director is now trying to sabotage the company by (unlawfully) stopping it from trading. Mr Howard has removed the apps from sale in the Apple/Google company accounts & removed the company website. Hopefully, I’ll have further updates soon.
I’m sorry to report that the company behind The Real Accent Apps is in trouble. The director who handled technical development and support has resigned without warning and has so far refused to carry out the requisite handover of access…
…This includes access to the company’s software, content and Apple / Google Play accounts, as well as my own Intellectual Property. Without this access, the company is unable to offer app users any technical support. Apologies…
I’m very much hoping this situation will change. In the meantime, if you need to contact me, please don’t use the company website, as I haven’t been given access to that either. Better to stick with Twitter, either on this account or @voicesupport Many thanks, Catherine
It appears that the Real Accent App series has been taken down illegally. Just waiting for them to be reinstated. Hope to have them back on sale soon.

I use it & think it’s great, they have a USA strand of the app available on AppStore that drills into specific frameworks for a lot of specific areas.
Likewise when accents are referred to as a ‘standard’. That’s problematic too. The word ‘standard’ implies that one accent is better than another, belittling other varieties. So let’s change the conversation surrounding the concept of ‘standard’ accents.
Sometimes General American (GenAm) is referred to as a ‘neutral’ US accent. Problematic term. Accents aren’t neutral because they’re influenced by the communities in which they’re used. So let’s change the conversation surrounding accent neutrality. It’s political!
