This is actually where Recite comes in particularly handy - having an extra pair of eyes to spot those little mistakes that might have crept in (either from your manual work OR the citation manager) 🎓

my most boomer opinion is that academics should be writing their own citations by hand. it's so incredibly easy. and all the citation manager programs are sloppy as hell

My ReciteWorks subscription continues to be the best $10 I spend every month. I upload a manuscript, and it creates a report of mismatches between references and in-text citations. I haven't done the math, but I think it saves me approximately a million hours of work a month.

Lots of improvements over the last few days: ➡️ Added checks for nonprimary author syntax - "Smith, A. B. (with Jones, B. C.). (2002). Alas, that was something else ..." ➡️ Added a check for the trailing dot (period) on Ed/Eds syntax (after the closing parenthesis) 1/2 ⬇️

Just a friendly reminder that you should NEVER do a reference check by hand, or search individually for doi numbers. Friends, just use reciteworks.com as an automatic reference check, and doi.crossref.org/simpleTextQ… to automatically find available dois. #AcademicTwitter
