Coming back from a meal with the girls last night - and so sad to see so many pubs - in fact, all of them, empty. Tier two does not work and will see the end of so many leasehold businesses - these businesses are people's livelihoods and homes. #getpubsopen
I know this might not be a popular opinion but I am not convinced that pubcos, managed estates of traditional family brewers with huge property piles or multi-national brewery owning pubs seeking grants from UK public is the best call for the sector or the public 1/5
And as for the supply chain – and I don’t mean the Brakes, Bidfood or Brewers – but the refrigeration engineer, the sign writer, the butcher, the greengrocer, the taxi company – will they see a penny of it – like f*ck will they. 4/5
And to add insult to injury - this morning we have got the text saying ALL of three years of my daughter’s secondary school must now self isolate - still #hospitality causing the problem @BorisJohnson @UKGovernmentEng ??? #idiots.

Today's announcement means, for the hospitality sector, it is Lockdown in every sense without using the word Lockdown. There is no logic. None at all. Words fail me at the decisions being made by these muppets.
And yes we did say pubs would be opening on the 2nd, not 3rd.
Highlighting the challenges we face in dealing with @UKGov... two screenshots from the same page on the same UK Gov website - latest version now use the word including after the original information was available.
As equally fantastic and saddened to see #wemakevents trending - an industry that has been hit as hard as any other and no sign of a single glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

This just this... we have been out in the trade in the last week and even on the day pubs and restaurants opened there were too many no shows - from people who booked that day. Have some respect and don't double book and do show up. #NOMORENOSHOWS
Restaurants are trying their best to survive at the moment. If you are one of those people who book a table and don’t show up, you are selfish and irresponsible. I’m delighted to support the campaign #NoMoreNoShows Please, if you can’t make it, just phone up and cancel in advance
On a day when #hospitality is holding its breath how is it #cinemas must have 1m / 2m distancing but we can sit on a plane in a metal tube 20cm from another person for 5 hours but it's OK due to a paper mask...WTF??
