I’m such a failure that @ZohranKMamdani is only now discovering the fragrant joy that is Haitian diri djondjon, a black mushroom rice dish that’s a central pillar of Haitian cuisine. I have to do better.
The Trump administration is preparing to deport at least 150 Afghans over the next 48 hours, first to Pakistan and then to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
Many of those facing deportation are relatives of those who worked alongside the United States. They could face severe retaliation from the Taliban upon their return.

South Africa, in response to AGOA termination, says it had offered fresh concessions to US trade officials in their latest talks, but the Trump administration had raised "new issues" that it had never tabled before. (If so: pretty difficult to negotiate under those conditions.)

One of the ways abusers secure compliance is through relentless pressure that feels impossible to escape.
It can look like hours of late-night lectures that trap you in circular arguments, persistent interruptions that leave you too drained to think, argue, or hold ground, bombarding you endlessly with the same accusations, over and over again.
They harass you day after day, week after week, until you are so worn out that agreeing with them feels like the only way to make it stop.
The pressure is steady, repetitive, and intentional, creating a kind of psychological exhaustion, where compliance becomes less about choice and more about ending the pain, even if it means abandoning your own wishes.

I don't want relationships where the goal is to never disappoint each other. That sounds impossible. I want relationships where disappointment doesn't automatically become a threat to the connection. Where we can tell the truth, repair what's been damaged, and trust in our love.

There'll be people who think your emotional injuries are stupid, & your conditioned behaviors are "choices" that reveal your "character." Understand: those people know exactly jack & sh*t about how humans function, & are just getting off to fantasies of their own invulnerability.

Look at these figures. And remember that behind every one of them is a human being. It’s criminal how little attention this spiralling outbreak is getting.
