Reduzer School trains students to the same standards our clients expect. Our promise to students is that those who complete the programme to the required standard will come out with the ability to build software the way top software developers do. We are better placed to train the next generation of engineers because we understand what clients want and already have a foothold in the market. We started by understanding the market, then validated the kind of engineers the market needs, built our standards around those expectations and, finally, designed a training programme that prepares students to meet the standards international clients expect.

Good news! Our programme fee is now KSH 10,000 a month. We start on 5 October, and applications are still open. From this intake, students will pay KSH 10,000 per month, while we work with willing sponsors and partners to bridge the remaining KSH 6,000 per student each month. We’d rather carry part of the cost than let finances cut someone’s journey short. If you’ve been thinking about joining us, send in your application at reduzer.ac.ke.

Levi joined the school with the ambition of becoming a competent software engineer and gaining the practical experience he would need to work professionally. Early on, he realized that software engineering was about much more than writing code, and over the past year, one of his biggest shifts has been in how he approaches problems. Instead of simply looking for the correct solution, he now wants to understand the reasoning behind it, so he is able to solve similar problems independently. Working through complex projects, taught him to research, approach problems systematically and keep going even when the answer was not immediately clear. Today, he is more comfortable taking on unfamiliar technologies and larger projects, with greater confidence in his ability to learn, adapt and overcome technical challenges. If you want to spend the next year developing that kind of thinking through practical work, send in your application through reduzer.ac.ke.

Sometimes the problem is not that you are lazy or unserious. You are trying to learn from a house where you are constantly being called, interrupted, sent somewhere, pulled into family responsibilities, surrounded by noise, friends, pressure and the same routines you have been trying to escape. Sometimes you need a different environment. That is why we set up Reduzer School in Nyamarambe. Away from the rush of a major town. A quiet place where, for one year, your main job can simply be to learn software development, build, practise, ask questions and get better. You will be surrounded by other people who have also chosen to take that year seriously. People building alongside you. Instructors around you. A proper learning space, reliable internet and power, and fewer reasons to keep saying “I’ll start properly next week.” If you know your current environment is making it difficult to become the person you want to become, maybe you don’t need another tutorial. Maybe you need to leave the noise for a while and lock in. Applications for our October onsite intake are open. reduzer.ac.ke

Gilbert joined the programme as a self-taught developer who had spent years building, but still wasn’t sure whether he was learning the right things or moving in the right direction. Over the past year, one of his biggest shifts has been learning that software development is about much more than writing code. He has learned how to take an idea, scope the work, choose the right technologies, think through the architecture, communicate with clients and take responsibility for a product from beginning to end. His first paid client project was the moment a lot of that growth became real. Someone who had been seeing the work he shared online reached out with a project, Gilbert took it on, delivered it, and went on to get a referral from that same client. The experience changed how he saw himself and what he knew he was capable of doing professionally. If you want to spend the next year building that kind of confidence through real work, send in your application through reduzer.ac.ke

Someone who had graduated from another bootcamp recently reached out to one of our graduating students. He still didn’t feel confident enough to work as a software developer and wanted to know whether joining Reduzer would actually change that. I think that is a very fair question, especially from someone being asked to commit another year of their life to training. Some students and their families go through a lot to raise these fees. Some have already spent money on programmes that promised more than they delivered. I wouldn’t expect them to trust us just because we have a convincing website or because I speak passionately about education. So this is the commitment I am making at Reduzer School. Complete our one-year programme, attend your classes, do the projects and put the feedback into practice. If you have done your part and still don’t feel confident in your skills to take on software development work, we will refund your programme fees in full. We ask our students to take their learning seriously. They should be able to hold us to the same standard. If we haven’t delivered the teaching, guidance and preparation we promised, the student shouldn’t be the only one who carries the cost. We’ve spent the past year testing our model with our first cohort. Having seen the work they can now take on and how much they have grown, I am confident enough to make this commitment.

If you want to work with high-performing teams, you have to learn how to see more than the ticket in front of you. The kind of engineer teams want in the room asks why the feature exists, what the user needs, how it fits into the product, what technical trade-offs come with it and what outcome the team is trying to create. That way of thinking changes you from someone who completes tasks into someone a team can trust to help move the product forward, and it is the kind of thinking we want you to develop during your time with us. Send in your application at reduzer.ac.ke

You may never completely silence the voice asking whether you are good enough, but you can give yourself enough experience to stop believing it every time it speaks. You become less afraid of getting stuck when you have spent months with us learning how to get yourself unstuck again and again, building real products, solving harder problems and seeing what you are capable of. One of the best parts of growing as a software engineer is reaching the point where the things you once needed help with become the things other people ask you about. That is the kind of growth we want the next 12 months to hold for you. Send in your application at reduzer.ac.ke.

You could spend months jumping from tutorial to tutorial, rushing through concepts, and still wondering whether you actually know how to build anything. Or you could give yourself 12 focused months to learn properly.

There are easier paths and easier things to learn than software engineering. Deciding to become a software engineer is a journey that could humble you, challenge you, and stretch you in ways you probably didn’t expect. How amazing would it be to look at something you once had

absolutely no idea how it worked and get to a point where you can confidently say, “I can build this.” The fulfilment that comes with that, the perks that come with having such a valuable skill, there’s so much on the other side of simply choosing to start.
