my thoughts behind this are that i think zach was going for a natural cutscene effect and so the player (bryan) can’t move until the cutscene ends. go easy on my boy he’s not playable yet
nothing stressed me out more than bryan watching all that horror unfold and STILL not running

Patrick Steward advocated for human rights, refugees, victims of domestic violence, LGBTQ+, and veterans his entire career. He was proud to use his platform to raise awareness and fight for those who wouldn’t. He was a talented actor and a good soul. Rest in peace, old friend 🤍

27 years ago, he filmed "Professor Xavier" in X-men He began losing his hair at 17, took a bricklaying job to pay for treatments that failed, and was fully bald by 19. Initially turned X-Men down, thinking it was too close to Picard, until Bryan Singer explained the film would explore the rights of people who are different. Only signed on after hearing that Xavier believed in peaceful coexistence and dialogue rather than force. When he asked why Xavier was in a wheelchair, Singer gave a simple answer. He said the comic-book origin (an alien dropping a rock on him) made Stewart prefer the director’s version. Making Logan was deeply emotional for him, a fond farewell to the character he had played for nearly two decades. At the Logan premiere, after Xavier’s death, he noticed Hugh Jackman wiping away a tear and simply took his hand. They held hands until the credits ended. In real life he was Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield (2004–2015) and Professor of Performing Arts. The role helped lure him back to Yorkshire from Hollywood, and he was hands-on, leading graduation processions and giving masterclasses. . . . A lot of people didn't know that Professor was also an actual professor in real-life as well. He was a mastermind that impacted students both in X-men and in England . . . He would be greatly missed. 🕊️🩶 Rest in perfect peace . . ✍️ Vincent the Therapist
Patrick Stewart has sadly passed away at the age of 86.

When I think of Patrick Stewart, it's not Captain Picard or Professor X that springs to mind. It's this quote. May he rest in peace.

RIP Sir Patrick Stewart, he was originally the narrator for Nightmare Before Christmas but the makers decided to go in a different direction but Danny Elfman loved Stewart's narration so much that it was included on the soundtrack. Here's Stewart's closing narration:

James McAvoy on the demise of Sir Patrick Stewart. “Sir Patrick Stewart will always be the definitive Professor X to generations of fans, but to me, he is so much more than that. He is a legend, a mentor, and an extraordinary actor whose presence elevated everyone around him. Stepping into a role he made iconic was never about replacing him; it was about honoring the legacy he built. I will forever be grateful for the path he paved, both on screen and beyond it. There will never be another Patrick Stewart.” — James McAvoy

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026) Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love. We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway. America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire. His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen. Ian McKellen 29 October 2026 Photo: University of Huddersfield

In 1952, an English teacher named Cecil Dormand secretly paid for a dirt-poor 11-year-old to take a drama course. He never told him and the boy didn’t find out until decades later. By then, he was a knight, that little boy’s name was Patrick Stewart. He was born into a poor family in Mirfield, a small mill town in Yorkshire and his father came home from World War II a violent man, and he was violent toward Patrick’s mother. Young Patrick learned exactly when to step between his father’s fist and his mother. An English teacher put a copy of Shakespeare in his hand and told him to get up and perform. He never stopped and left school at 15. By 19 he was completely bald... most agencies told him he'd never make it because of that. In 1987, the LA Times called him an “unknown British Shakespearean actor” when he was cast as Captain Picard. Then he became one of the most famous faces on Earth. You’ve probably heard that part. Here’s the part you haven’t: He spent decades as a patron of Refuge, sheltering women and children from domestic violence. But he never stopped trying to understand his father. He dug up a 1940 newspaper clipping that said his dad had come home with severe shell shock. He went to France and walked the ground where his father’s unit was pinned down under bombing for hours. He learned his father had PTSD, and nobody ever helped him. So Patrick became an ambassador for Combat Stress, a charity that helps veterans. In 2013, a young woman at a Texas convention told him she was a survivor of domestic violence. He asked, “My dear, are you okay?” Then he hopped off the stage, held her, and told her: “You never have to go through that again, you’re safe now.” At Dragon Con, a Make-A-Wish girl dressed as Spock came to meet him. 2,000 people were waiting for him to speak... he sat down and talked with her for 15 minutes, making all of them wait. He told her that since they were friends now, whenever she saw him on screen she could wave and say, “Hello Patrick.” After 9/11, he felt helpless, so he brought his one-man A Christmas Carol back to Broadway for a full week of charity shows. He played every character himself and donated every cent. In 2019 he did it again, and every dollar went to feeding hungry New Yorkers. In 2017, he fostered a pit bull named Ginger, who had been rescued from a dogfighting ring. She was his first dog in more than 50 years. He couldn’t bring her home to England, so he found her a family. Then he kept fostering more. When he said he was done with Star Trek so many people told him the show had gotten them through the hardest times of their lives. So he wanted to see if Picard could do it one more time. Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick 🖖

All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.
