Counting from rollout of the first 747 in 1968, that's ~54 years of building 747s. For perspective, a reminder that 1968 was only ~65 years after Wright Brothers' first flight. A great run considering it was originally expected to be quickly overshadowed by supersonic aircraft.
There she goes! The last 747 has left our Everett factory ahead of delivery to Atlas Air in early 2023. #QueenOfTheSkies Photos: Boeing/Paul Weatherman

A chaotic under-communicated layoff eliminated many of my closest colleagues and nobody we could talk to knew why. After months of management flailing at damage control I decided trust was gone forever and left. Some at Twitter will hold out hope as I did, others won't wait.

Exploring the guts of a dead Form 1+ laser resin printer. Looks like galvanometer commands are analog voltage level: oscilloscope plot on XY mode resembles laser beam path.

Some cooling fans have a speed-reporting wire. Briefly flashing LEDs based on that tachometer signal creates a strobe light.

If a delay is added between tachometer pulse and LED illumination, the visual shifts to a different location. Varying this delay over time can "rotate" the image at any speed independent of actual fan rotation speed, even backwards!

(Disclaimer: These effects are less flicker-y in real life than what's visible in these clips. It's a very challenging thing for me to record on video!)

BEST VIDEO of emotional frustrations when we argue for vaccines-PLUS… emphasis on the ‘plus’. Every time we push #COVIDisAirborne & need for masks, better ventilation, air filtration… we often get this response: watch 🎥 HT @TiredActor xitter.cf/WarblerGrey/status/153…

Hacking on a trio of cheap PC case fans so #WS2812 #NeoPixel LEDs embedded in each hub can be controlled using #Pixelblaze by @ledmage. Test here is running my X/Y/Z-axis sweep program to verify 3D coordinate map.

Government: "You're on your own to manage your virus exposure." OK fine, I'll continue to stay at home and avoid public places as much as I can. Also government: "You are hereby summoned for jury duty." Grrrrrr.😠
