The traditional drug development model works for millions. But what happens when a patient is the only person in the world with their specific genetic mutation?
The frontier of medicine has shifted toward N-of-1 therapies—hyper-customized treatments designed for a single individual. But to save lives at scale, we must transform these isolated miracles into a repeatable, standardized system.
That is exactly what we are unpacking at the 2026 RARE Drug Development Symposium.
Join us for "Scaling N of 1 - A Collective Effort," a vital fireside chat featuring two pioneers redefining rare disease innovation:
Charlene Son Rigby, CEO of Global Genes
Dr. Tim Yu, Principal Investigator at Boston Children's Hospital
If you are attending the Symposium and are passionate about the future of personalized medicine, add this session to your calendar!

My lab at @Stanford is looking to hire postdocs for multiple projects on cancer biology and therapeutics. Our recent work has uncovered some truly remarkable mechanisms for cytotoxic small molecules and we're looking to build on this research. If interested, see below:

Here is the "effective payline" for each institute, estimated (by Claude) as the percentile where one can expect 80% probability of funding from a logistic regression fit. The effective payline has gone from a historic ~12% to 6% in 2025.
