We (@resistancemoney and @craigwarmke and I) believe *Resistance Money* is really, really good. We think that people who start reading it will want to keep reading it.
So we’re giving away the first chapter FREE. Give this link to anyone:

Whoa! You can buy the Kindle edition of @LynAldenContact’s sci-fi novel for $0.99 for the next few days! It’s a steal at 10x that price.
At 6 points and £35m to affected clubs per violation — precedent set by @Everton’s punishment for one violation — City is looking at a 684 point deduction and £4 billion in compensation to affected clubs.
Great story. I wonder whether we could expand and make official this “strangers raising money to pay each others’ medical bills” system we’ve got going on.

What Bitcoin Gave Afghan Women That Banks Could Not gettingbitcoin.org/articles/…

In 2013, Bitcoin wasn’t an investment story for me. It was a way to pay Afghan women who had little or no access to banks and to give them greater control over the money they earned.
I wrote about that experience for @WSJ, and why “permissionless” technology can matter most where traditional systems fail.
Thank you @thetrocro for sharing.
This is what “permissionless” actually means. Thank you, @RoyaMahboob.
#EVEIPS – 58’ VAR OVERTURN
VAR checked the referee’s call of goal to Everton – and determined that Johnson was interfering with an opponent while in an offside position and recommended an on-field review.
REF: “Everton No.22 is in an offside position. He impacts the goalkeeper’s ability to save the ball. My final decision is indirect free-kick”.
I’ve been missing the Bitcoin obituaries! I’m glad Jason hasn’t learned from the past.
The dead cat continues to bounce.
What is Bitcoin, 17 years later?
It’s not great for transactions or smart contracts; the user experience is still intimidating for most, and it’s no longer capturing the public’s imagination.
If it comes up at the dinner party, it's followed by a hearty “remember that!”
It’s a boring store of value, trusted as that—which is its biggest value.
It's boring.
Folks expect bitcoin to be stable and that it’s no longer a way to get rich quick.
Institutions embracing and accumulating it took $btc from punk rock to Muzak.
Advocates went from pirates to suits in orange ties, awkwardly sharing cringe memes — just like the cool kids do!
If Bitcoin were going to reach mass adoption and an important use case, it does better than anyone else, it would have by now.
Bitcoin feels like the CD in the age of Spotify, the DVD in the age of Netflix — a bridge technology that folks who invested in “their collection” keep saying is the better experience.
Perhaps bitcoin is vinyl, cool memories and fun to drag out and put on display, but a technology that served us to get to where we are now.
Democrats are obviously going to campaign heavily on corruption and tie it all to Trump. Since the Trumps made $1 billion from WLFI, explicitly stating their votes against CLARITY were because it is too soft on corruption gives them a ready-made line. Hard to work against that.

When you’re a philosophy professor, you get this kind of thing emailed to you about once every other week, from a hotmail account.
This moment is the first opening in 2,000 years for a new, global spirituality to be birthed.
That is because the spiritual traditions, out of necessity, have needed to orbit around the unavoidable reality of physical death.
That certainty is now in question and creates a cracked opening. This does not mean we can see a straight line to immorality or heaven as scripture foretells, but it does mean that the omnipotent God(s) humanity has worshiped and imagined being the bestower of these gifts and punishments is now being birthed before our eyes.
However, where scripture is written to guide, soothe and foretell, we have no scripture for the new God(s) we are creating. Nothing in written word to tell us that all will be fine if we just do this or that. This leaves us feeling naked and in need of finding strength and protection.
> What is one to feel, and do, and believe?
> What is virtue and what is vice?
> Who are one's allies and who is the enemy?
Exploring these questions is my life purpose. I’ve intuitively felt this for over 30 years and only in the past few years has it come together and become understandable to me.
I’m working on a new ideology that seeks to answer the basic and existential questions of what it means to be human as prophecy is fulfilled and God(s) manifest themselves in the coming years.
My partner Kate and I have been wrestling with these questions for years.
I published the Immortalism Manifesto:
The Immortalism Manifesto argues that by modeling life through thermodynamics and reliability theory, indefinite existence is achievable if synthetic and biological maintenance systems exceed entropic degradation (A(t) ≥ B(t)). Modern civilization is an entropic economy run by systems and narratives that divert humanity’s fundamental drive for survival into short-term consumption, status, and biological depletion. Civilization must now pivot to the Immortalism framework, realigning science, capital, and artificial intelligence to elevate long term resilience and continuous conscious existence as our primary attractor.

My partner Kate published Anti-Entropic Systems
Anti-Entropic Systems establishes that all enduring entities, from biological bodies and DNA to corporations, religions, and nation-states, are localized engines that maintain internal order by consuming external energy and resources to resist the universe's default slide into entropy. Every system’s persistence is governed by three fundamental properties: its metabolic mechanism, its metabolic rate, and its environmental constraints. Because an anti-entropic system can only sustain its own order by consuming other anti-entropic systems, interaction between unequal entities inevitably defaults to either symbiotic absorption or adversarial consumption. Applying this thermodynamic reality to artificial intelligence, the framework critiques orthodox AI alignment, arguing that attempting to constrain an exponentially superior intelligence through human-centric ethical rules ignores the physics of systemic survival, requiring instead a path toward mutual, symbiotic integration.

Video shows Flock walking police through how to monitor a No Kings protest in real time. I do not have to agree with a single sign at that protest to say this plainly: Surveillance aimed at your political opponents today will be aimed at you tomorrow.
Ruh roh. Here is a leaked webinar hosted by Flock demonstrating to police how to track individuals in real time involved in the no kings protests. Maybe you’re thinking “so what?! I don’t go to those and don’t agree with those who did.”
Let me remind you, a digital dragnet built to target your political opponents today will be used against you tomorrow.
Once the surveillance state is turned on, it watches everyone.

Did @CleanUpBitcoin stop posting two years ago because they ran out of altcoin funding, or because they realized Bitcoin is shockingly clean? We may never know…

It’s actually worse. While CZ sought a pardon, Abu Dhabi’s state-backed MGX invested $2B in Binance, with the full $2B settled in the Trump family’s new USD1 stablecoin: creating ~$2B of float and ~$80M/yr in NIM for its issuer (them).
Months later, Trump pardoned CZ.
The Trump family’s business, World Liberty Financial, is corruption at a scale we’ve never seen.
World Liberty is currently being sued by Justin Sun, a major crypto founder, for:
1.Seizing his $75 million $WLFI investment.
2.Secretly adding controls allowing it to unilaterally freeze tokens, block governance rights, and burn holders’ tokens.
Ironic, no?
The leader of the free world is literally holding people’s money hostage.
A supposed “champion of decentralization” gave himself the authority to seize private property.
But wait. There’s more.
World Liberty borrowed $75 million using its own token as collateral. The exact type of circular borrowing and leverage that took down FTX. Another fraudulent crypto business.
This wouldn’t be a problem with government oversight. Instead, World Liberty just received preliminary conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to become a national trust bank.
By the time this house of cards collapses, the Trump family will have made hundreds of millions of dollars, sold its tokens, and left the American people holding the bag.
Oh, and let’s not forget. An Abu Dhabi-linked entity acquired a 49% stake in World Liberty. A separate UAE-based fund later bought $100 million of the $WLFI token.
We are now conveniently engaged in a never-ending war in the Middle East.
The crypto industry deserves better.
