So I’ve decided to slice the earth into 3 and give Hudson 2/3 as a gift. The rest of you are just going to have to find somewhere inside the remaining 1/3 to squat idk
The dunces that were being horrible, ableist and saying derogatory things about the interviewers on the show, were probably tuned in today. Some of the most insightful questions he’s ever answered but some of you wanted us to see it as khia. You see how foolish you look now?

Hudson Williams on where he belongs as a mixed-race Canadian and if he felt out of place growing up on 'The Assembly' Season 2! (via @cbcgem)
"There's people who are like, 'You, you don't look Asian. You're not Asian.' And then people going, ‘What? You look full Asian. I can totally see Asian.’ And I'm like, ‘What?’ ‘What is this conversation?’ [...] It's an alien thing when people want to place you, but you can't even place yourself.”
"Where do I feel like I belong now? Amongst people who are as confused as I am. [laughs] That's where I feel at home, is with people, The only stability they have is that they're searching for answers. They're searching for self-improvement, searching to learn. When I'm around that energy, I feel at home, and it doesn't really matter what part of the world I'm in.”

Hudson Williams talks about how he would design his career if it were up to what excites him in the first episode of 'The Assembly' Season 2 on @cbcgem!
"It looks like me directing my own films and writing them and acting in them because I’m a selfish little diva. I like the zany, I like the bizarre. I like the strange, the horrifying, and then also working with some of my favourite Korean directors. Like original ideas, no selling out, and just like staying true to artists that inspire me."
Some people who were quick to bash him and blame him for everything evil that has ever happened in kamloops are “awwing and relating” to his experience as a biracial kid in a small, majority white town. Actual devils like wooooooowwww. I usually don’t like discourse but I’m actually pissed af. God punish you people

Hudson talks about playing Henry Park and Logan in YAGA, returnin…
And it will always be a massive “fuck you” to the people who turned his ADHD diagnosis into a vehicle for those stupid comments. “Chaos demon, unhinged, needs a minder, he can’t control himself, he needs someone to stop him from saying something cancellable, he’s not smart”. No, I don’t mean the actual jokes he has made himself, you know yourselves and you know the rubbish narrative you were pushing with those comments. Nasty individuals.
That part about Korean culture facilitating the inherent denial of mental disorders and trying to “cure” them by discipline hit me like mad. I won’t speak for other people of colour but in Nigeria, it’s prevalent. “You’re just lazy”, “you just need to focus harder”, even going as far as disciplining the child bcos they think that will make it go away. It applies to a whole lot of other conditions too. One of the hardest things to talk about with older folks
“When I’m feeling lonely, I go back to books and movies”

Hudson Williams when asked how he overcomes loneliness:
“Loneliness is something I deal with fleetingly. I was left alone a ton as a kid, and I started lashing out. My parents really didn’t know what was going on. They started to give me a bit more attention, and I stopped lashing out. I was trying to get attention. I think what that gave me is the ability to be alone in large amounts. When I feel lonely, the first thing I do is go to books and movies I love and friends—my favorite people. I rush back to them because when I’m kinda falling down that hole of being lonely, I think your friends and family are like the climbing pegs, the climbing wall that pulls you back into life by. I try to find those good people and those things that inspire me.”
