🌍💧 Today, on #HumanRightsDay, EPSU is clear: water is a human right.
10 years after #Right2Water - the first successful ECI - the EU still hasn’t recognised this vital right. With growing challenges like droughts and floods, we need a rights-based approach to ensure no one is left behind.

In March 2022, half a million people lost their access to clean water in Mykolaiv/Ukraine, in a Russian attack.
💧EPSU & public service unions took action to restore people’s access to clean water.
Water is a right - not a target.

We expect EU's @JosepBorrellF to speak up. Defending the right to water is a key EU policy

💧@right2water is still pending after 12 years of promises.
EPSU welcomes new hygiene rules by the @EU_Commission - but we need further legislation to ensure everyone has access to sufficient, safe and affordable water.
This is what the #RightToWater means to us.

'Access to #water and #sanitation is a #HumanRight, but 30% of the EU population is affected by water stress. Water poverty is an issue, with 450,000 people without proprer drinking water access in Europe. It's high time to address this'
