This 1000th goal gimmick for Messi and Ronaldo just doesn’t make sense to me. It doesn’t matter who it comes against, the very fact that they’re in a position to score 1000(!!!) goals is astonishing beyond belief. Perspective: a footballer would have to average 50 goals a season for TWENTY CONSECUTIVE SEASONS to ever hit 1000 goals. Are we truly comprehend how mad that is?

I would argue that Inter in the 2020s have been just as good, if not better, than Juve were in the 2010s. They're just perceived differently because they've had infinitely worse luck in the league, they don't have as many star players, and they're yet to match Juve's longevity.
