the biggest issue with la bola negra reviews is that people judge this film through modern lenses ignoring the dictatorship shaped elephant in the room (and many other things) and they have a very a black and white view on things but not everything can and needs to fit into boxes

this is why i find many of the people criticizing la bola negra disingenuous and ignorant. spanish fascists WON the war, franco stayed in power until his death. they were never punished or defeated. sebastián lived a miserable life full of pain and regret THAT'S THE POINT
