the first gulp of AI will make you think you're undefeatable. But at the bottom of the glass your need to understand is waiting for you.

it's true
Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky: “The US is not that competitive. Europe is even less competitive.” “China is competitive.” “China is 9/9/6. Even if you are good in Europe, or in the US, how can you out-compete the people who work 9:00 to 9:00, six days a week?” “I started in a co-working space with 140 companies. Within 5 years, only 3 companies survived. They all worked on the weekends.” “Within 10 years, only 2 companies survived out of 140.” “Working weekends is a must if you want to survive. Purely statistically.”

Underrated life advice: Be more enthusiastic. One of the most attractive traits is genuine enthusiasm. It's energizing to spend time around people who show real excitement for life. For people, ideas, and tiny moments. It takes courage to care so openly. Enthusiasm is contagious.

Every indie app developer follows the same path: - Build an app - Make it freemium because you don't believe people will pay for it - Market it for free on Reddit, TikTok, IG, etc. - Get a bunch of users but barely any purchases - Switch from freemium to a hard paywall - Watch your download-to-paid conversion rate triple - Manually post dozens of times a day - Start making $500-$1,000 a month - Realize you can't scale because you're already posting as much as humanly possible - Try paid ads - Lose a bunch of money - Fix your onboarding, paywall, ad creatives, etc. - Try paid ads again - Get close to profitability - Run A/B tests and improve your creatives - Finally get your ads profitable - Scale your ad spend - Hit $10k a month - Realize you're only keeping $3k after ad spend and taxes - Accept that you'll be spending tens of thousands on ads every month for the rest of your life to maintain 30% margins - Move to Asia

Technical moats are mostly over at this point. If you’re building something that is meant to be durable, the only moats now are: • Proprietary data • Network effects • A physical component

exactly this it's a video game but in real life and i somehow dont feel bad about it
I feel like I’m frying my dopamine system with all this Claude/Codex work. Constantly monitoring and instructing, anticipating the work it’s going to produce. Then killing time waiting, consuming way more algo feed content than ever before. How do y’all tackle this?
