Just posted a new preprint arguing that it's time to stop using the Cross-Lagged Panel Model (CLPM). Would love to hear comments. I'll highlight a couple issues in this thread xitter.cf/PsyArXivBot/status/149… 1/

Hey ho! We just submitted a replication and extension of Reiff et al. (2019, SPPS). This study found an effect between the similarity of one's present and future personality on well-being 10 years later. To compute the similiarity effect, a difference-score approach was used. ⬇️
Newish paper with @dingding_peng on link between personality and religion: psyarxiv.com/zt9mg/ Some fun issues with 1) post-publication critique 2) writing reproducible code 3) cross-lagged panel model. Thread on mastodon (also richlucas on bluesky): mastodon.social/@richlucas/1…

Today, my friend and colleague Debby Kashy passed away. We shared an office suite for almost twenty years, so I saw her almost every day since the beginning of my career. She will be missed. /1
Not surprisingly, Debby was also a committed teacher and mentor to students. She won the highest awards our university offers for teaching, and she spent countless hours helping her own students and others in the department with their research and analyses /5
If you want to read about Debby's many accomplishments, I'll link to an announcement of the Lifetime Achievement Award that she won last year psychology.msu.edu/news-even… /end
Hey personality people: I need to update my syllabus for my grad personality class. Anyone have any you want to share so I can look for ideas? Replies or DMs would be great!
Hey look, @BarbOBrien was recognized again for her work! Congrats Barb!
Also I'm choosing to believe that the "administration of justice" has something to do with superhero lawyers and not just bureaucratic policies and procedures.

Hey look, @Chops310 won ANOTHER award. Congrats Bill!!!!
Also impressive is the number of students (in the foreground of the pic) you've already worked with as an early career award winner

Hi @googlefi; longtime user here. Upgrade to Unlimited Plus to get international coverage. Could never connect while abroad; tech support could not fix it. Asking for a refund of the difference in price from old plan; tech support refuses. Does that seem reasonable to you?
