One private. Two mini-groups. Two weeks at camp. Then support so it sticks. That’s the entire family dog program now. No tiers. No endless private trips for results that fade by the weekend. If you’re ready to stop managing the same issues week after week, schedule a strategy call. We’ll talk through what’s actually happening with your dog. alaskadogworks.com/peak-perf…

Task training is only half the story; a true partnership is the rest. If you only manage tasks without building a genuine, trusting relationship with your team, you're missing the core of effective management. Relationships drive results. #peakexp #DoBetter #effectiveleadership

Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, but what happens when the cute photos give way to sleepless nights, potty accidents, constant supervision, and a puppy who seems determined to bite everything in sight? In this episode of Dog Works Radio: The Daily Dog, host @NicoleBForto welcomes @MicheleForto to talk about the first week with a brand-new puppy. Both professional dog trainers recently brought home eight- and nine-week-old puppies, and they're sharing what life has really been like behind the scenes. Nicole introduces Durin, her new German Shepherd puppy, while Michele shares Skoll's adventures as a Seppala Siberian Husky puppy. From challenging crate-training sessions and unexpected potty accidents to early obedience lessons and puppy biting, they explain why even experienced trainers face frustrations during those first few days. You'll hear practical advice on establishing a consistent puppy training routine, managing crate crying, teaching bite inhibition, introducing basic commands, and helping your puppy adjust to a new home. Nicole and Michele also discuss the importance of handling exercises, supervision, and realistic expectations during those early weeks. Whether you're preparing to bring home your first puppy or you're already wondering what you've gotten yourself into, this episode offers a realistic look at puppy ownership and the training foundation that begins the moment your new companion walks through the door. “The training looked great… until we left the parking lot.” That’s the loop most Anchorage owners know. A lesson goes well. Real life doesn’t. Peak Performance puts the intensive work at our Willow facility for two weeks, bookends it with purposeful coaching, and keeps you supported with Pack Zoom twice a week for 90 days. One program. Clear steps. Start with a strategy call. with @micheleforto and @AlaskaDogWorks alaskadogworks.com/peak-perf…

🎃 NIGHT 28: STEPHEN KING For Night 28 of #31NightsOfHorror, the prompt is Stephen King, and we're going with Doctor Sleep (2019). With so many Stephen King adaptations to choose from, this wasn't an easy decision. But we figured it was time to revisit the world of The Shining. Directed by Mike Flanagan, Doctor Sleep follows a grown-up Danny Torrance, played by Ewan McGregor, decades after the terrifying events at the Overlook Hotel. Danny is still dealing with the trauma of his childhood when he meets a young girl with powers similar to his own and discovers a group of dangerous people who feed on children with the shining. What makes this movie interesting is that it's both an adaptation of King's novel and a sequel to Stanley Kubrick's 1980 film, even though King famously wasn't a fan of Kubrick's version. And Rebecca Ferguson as Rose the Hat? Easily one of the most memorable villains in a modern Stephen King adaptation. It's a long movie, especially in the director's cut, but it's packed with material for King fans. Have you seen Doctor Sleep? How does it compare to The Shining? #31NightsOfHorror #DoctorSleep #StephenKing #TheShining #MikeFlanagan #HorrorMovies #OctoberHorror robertforto.com/stephen-king…

🎃 NIGHT 27: DRACULA/VAMPIRES For Night 27 of #31NightsOfHorror, the prompt is Dracula/Vampires, and we're going with something a little different: El Conde (2023). We've watched plenty of vampire movies over the years, from classic Universal Monsters to modern bloodsuckers, but this one takes the genre in an unusual direction. Directed by Pablo Larraín, El Conde is a Chilean black comedy that imagines former dictator Augusto Pinochet as a 250-year-old vampire tired of living and ready to die. One thing we enjoy about this October challenge is finding films that approach familiar horror themes from a completely different angle. And after more than a century of Dracula movies, it's refreshing to see someone do something this strange with the vampire myth. Have you seen El Conde? What's the most unusual vampire movie you've ever watched? #31NightsOfHorror #ElConde #VampireMovies #Dracula #ChileanCinema #GothicHorror #HorrorMovies #OctoberHorror robertforto.com/dracula-vamp…

Based. Not many founders/CEOs have the balls to do brand marketing. Most just live in a perpetual cycle of performance ads. @NStoronsky on @davidsenra’s podcast. “If you’re a digital bank, you don’t have branches. People don’t see you physically, so they trust you less by definition compared to HSBC, Lloyds, JP Morgan Chase." "So how do you build trust? In performance marketing you pay per impression, and there are a lot of spaces in the physical world you can buy that also produce impressions, at a much cheaper price. We bought almost 50% of all airports in Europe. Simple math. How many times a year people travel, how many times they’re in the airport, how many impressions we produce, how much it costs us. There is arbitrage to performance marketing.”

After 20+ years moving from operator to architect, I've learned one rule I never break: communicate the plan to the second generation before you announce it to the staff. Oct 27: Actionable tip: Hold the successor conversation this week, then brief the staff.
