Airbnb used to be so fun. My parents used it as an actual bed and breakfast. We used to host people from all over the world in our guest bedrooms - Holland, China, Vancouver, Everywhere. I had doctors in residency school living with me for a months, friends from other countries my age and so much more. I learned so much from the guests. They would mentor me and help me plan for college. They’d take me out to eat dinner. Sometimes my parents would leave me alone for weeks/months with guests. My mom would always cook and clean and make sure the guests had everything. Now it’s a (worse) hotel and more sterile. Only the really high end architecture ones are fun but ur gonna pay so much…
One thing I’ve learned today is that a LOT of Airbnb hosts haven’t realized they’re actually in the hospitality industry, not the real estate industry.

i told u guys clipping is dead
I’ve been dying to have an insane clipper and her name is Opus 5.5. I just started posting and hit over 190k views in the last 2 days from my small account and gained 600+ followers. It can find the matching b-roll, use remotion templates and cut so it is engaging and educational. I have tons of alpha in my livestreams and I’m finally glad I can just build live and share my knowledge with the world.

THIS
Ads are dead. Everyone is now a content creator because old systems no longer work: 1) Display advertising only shows ads to broke people that can't afford premium subscriptions. The K shaped economy makes this worse. How do you sell a premium product when your target audience pays not to see ads? 2) College degrees, certifications, and CV's have all been defrauded to death. AI spam and Indian fraud have annihilated these previously quality indicators that someone would make a good employee. 3) Meatspace ads are increasingly irrelevant as more transactions and attention move online. Even things you think would be relevant, like billboards, are superceded by Google maps. And with self driving cars, who is going to look at a billboard ever again? 4) SEO has been dead for 20 years, and now Google is getting replaced by AI powered search. 5) The internet is increasingly walled gardens (X, FB, Discord) that don't want you leaving the platform. So while they serve ads, there's a tension with them. X is trying to bring in commerce to the platform to remove this tension. Below, McDonald's isn't going into 'fine dining' as a new business vertical. They're going to run a restaurant at a small loss as a marketing ploy. People will go there as a joke, the well dressed waiter will recommend the Michellin star chef made Happy Meal, and those people will post about McDonald's online. It's advertising, The End. Kraft recently announced a "Mac & Cheese" flavored soda. Tesla shot a car into space, then made a flying car. Tesla's marketing budget: $16. Not a typo. Anthropic's marketing is claiming Claude helped the US military with Iran, and that Claude is so powerful it'll doom humanity. The bad news: you must create content. You have no choice. Your CV will be auto-denied and/or filled by Indians. Your ads will be seen only by brokies. The good news: content creation is Lindy. From shadow puppets on cave walls, to YouTube brainrot, it seems to have value no matter what technology does. It's also a moat: only ~1% of people create any content at all! Most aren't willing to look ridiculous in public. And the best news: you need to create things AI can't, like racism or misogyny. Otherwise people just copy your content with AI. Launching an upscale restaurant isn't news. McDonald's has a brand built from fast food, and are being jesters by pretending to be upscale. It's different, fun, it brings out the comments. Frens, we live in the golden age. Your future depends on you being a jackass on the internet.

ur parents are completely screwed bro
We made the first AI model you can have a realistic conversation with that was trained entirely on speech! Dessa is a full-duplex speech-to-speech model that you can run on consumer GPUs. This is a GPT3 moment for speech.

I hate UGC w a burning passion tbh
so many of the ugc case studies on here fail to mention that the main reason they work is because they are undisclosed ads featuring fake stories by what is essentially an actor…

Someone pay for my last tweet on this platform
ever since the “Paid partnership” tag was added on here, mass paid partnerships have become such a strange launch strategy. you spend all this money to make it look like everyone’s talking about your product, then put a little disclaimer under every post explaining why.

Introducing The Cheeky Pint Benchmark. We made our intern watch every episode of Cheeky Pint to bring you this breakdown of pints drank by guests to the nearest sixth. Congratulations to @elonmusk who is currently in the lead with three full pints of Guinness.

Is perplexity still good?
The most-purchased AI vendor in each category, based on Ramp spend data. Search, dictation and coding have clear leaders, with Perplexity, Wispr Flow and Claude Code each bought by 87%+ of category buyers. Inference, GPU capacity and AI-first GTM are still fragmented.
