Marketing is broken🧵👇
Marketing global market size is at $1.9T, out of which digital advertising share will reach $786B by 2026
However most of the marketing spend ends up in the pockets of big platforms (Google, Meta) but it doesn’t generate a return for the brands

- 1979: #Israel withdrew from Sinai and all Egyptian territory. A majority of Egyptians are still inciting against Israel today despite the peace treaty.
- 1994: Israel signed peace with Jordan, where antisemitism levels today are on par with that in Europe in the 1930s.
- 2000: Israel withdrew from south Lebanon, which signed on the UN Blue line quasi border, UN certified Israel complied with UNSC 425. What did Israel get in return? 200k rockets trained at its civilians by Hezbollah, which just started a war on Israel last month.
- 2005: Israel withdrew from Gaza and handed more West Bank to the Palestinian Authority. What did Israel get? Hamas took over Gaza in 2007, engaged in 7 rounds of war in the last of which Hamas massacred 1,200 Israelis.
=> So, who exactly came up with the idea that if Israel only withdraws from the West Bank and East Jerusalem, Palestinians and Israel haters will take out their harps and start playing the hymns of peace?
At best, Palestine will be another Gaza under Hamas, this time with IRGC chief getting a balcony view overseeing all of Israel to better design his upcoming massacre of Israelis.
Before blaming Israel for the absence of peace, let's recognize and reward Israel for whatever steps it took for peace in the past, reciprocate, win Israel's trust, then assign blame if peace doesn't work out.

Kids these days….Our Kids are The Defining Generation. And they are doing great!!
Day 41 -- thoughts on the war and unfolding situation in Israel.
Like every parent over the last decade and especially in 2023, I fretted about the impact that digital devices, screen time and social networks would have on my kids. Like every Israeli parent, I am not worried any more. The iPhone generation turned up on en masse, ready to fight for the right to live and prosper. They grasped the gravity of violent Jihad for Israel and the West and came with courage and conviction. Our kids taught us to take the fight to the enemies of humanity, to stand tall, to believe, to know that the future will be better in their hands. The greatest emerging generation was born in Israel. They are the Defining Generation.
Globally, many kids’ minds have been poisoned by moral relativism, identity politics and a general malaise of passivity. Glued to screens, married to pronouns and upset by micro-aggressions, college campuses have produced soft kids, with little resilience and a lack of critical thinking. College students parroting and lauding Osama Bin Laden’s “Letter to America” on Tiktok is just the latest stunning example of mind-capture by tiktokism, nihilism and upside-downism of the iPhone generation. The recent protests on college campuses show that these young people, who are used to hiding behind screens and screen names, lack courage, covering their faces and fecklessly shouting bloody murder when someone exposes them for their moral depravity.
Not Israeli kids. They are not coddled and hence have turned up en masse for reserve duty. The younger ones are serving and fighting as part of their mandatory military service to beat back the gleeful butchers of Hamas. Esprit de corps oozes through their veins. This is a real call of duty, not a game, and hence they are without their phones, fighting for the West in Gaza, not able to make contact with their friends and family by smartphone but still viscerally connected to the Homefront, to their families and to Western Values.
It turns out that mandatory military service and national service is good for civics, resilience and moral clarity. Serving your country and people, a purpose higher than yourself or your iPhone creates men and women of valor. They carry the privilege and burden of fighting for the values and freedom that the West has held dear for centuries. They intuitively know right from wrong, the satanic barbarism of radical violent Jihad from genuinely good countries like Israel and America. Since they run out to fight evil, they know what they are living for.
Mandatory service also ensures patriotism and shared values. Mandatory service enables immigrants to adopt the values of their adopted country and the country that gave them life and liberty. Anyone who did mandatory service would not tear down an American flag in Times Square or they would leave the country before.
Our brave young Israeli kids and young adults are not confused. Over the last five weeks, we have discovered with certainty that they are addicted to liberty and the pursuit of happiness, not their phones. Together, all walks of Israeli young people are fighting for our ideals.
I just took my first overnight business trip since the war broke out. The economy must continue during this time. But it was tough. My son got his first 24 hour army leave right after I crossed security on my way to the plane’s gate. I asked him if I should turn around and he said "absolutely not", you need to go. The economy is a front too. I did not get to see him since I am 9000 miles away. I feel far away with everything going on back home. It was really hard to leave. It was hard to do a video call with my kids while everyone who was home ate dinner together. It is hard, even if, perhaps, I made the right decision to travel.
This is real life. This is a real war. This is a real turning point in history, a historic moment. I met with many people in the US. I could sense that everyone I met in America understood how important this fight against Hamas and violent Jihad was. Many are worried it is coming to their cities soon, if it is not there already. And I wonder: would their kids take up arms and fight when they came for them? I hope so. I pray.
Investment in Israeli companies is continuing. Deals are closing. Money is flowing. I was really encouraged by the support from the tech and business community. Many people thanked me for my kids’s service. Some were concerned for our wellbeing and were blown away by the resilience. I received numerous hugs from a wide range of people. Last evening, a woman who asked where I was from just started crying and said "Thank you. I am sending energy to you and your children."
I heard numerous stories from investors who while getting a Zoom pitch from Israeli CEOs, had to hold the line for a minute while the CEO ran for shelter due to Hamas rockets. But, the pitch kept on going! “Your entrepreneurs are badass” said two. Service to others breeds resilience. These “pitches” are not just for a startup. They are for a country and set of values.
On my iPhone, I showed some pictures of my kids. I showed pictures of some of my entrepreneurs, splitting time between reserve duty and running their companies. The pictures made me proud. This is the greatest emerging generation. At one point, while showing a picture to a colleague, my phone rang from an unrecognized number. I apologized and said I had to answer because sometimes the kids call from someone else’s phone because they do not have their own phone. Whoever they find with a phone becomes a “phone booth” to call home or call loved ones. Alas, it was just a service provider. “When did you last speak to your kid?” the person asked. “Two weeks ago,” I answered. I added, “In this era of instant communication, I too have been taught a lesson. There is no find your iPhone or reach out and call your kids while they are fighting in Gaza.” They are focused on doing the right thing.
I realized that I too am growing up during this war. Time for me to learn resilience from our kids. They are the best. We have a lot to learn from them. The world has a lot to learn from them.

Many people have been chanting:
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free”.
I’m sure it makes them feel pretty good about themselves.
I’ve added this map for their convenience.
Between the River and the Sea…is Israel.
So what you’re actually chanting is “kick-out or kill all the Jews”.

I see @VivekGRamaswamy called for "de-escalation" after the atrocities against Israelis, Americans and others.
I have a simple proposition. Gaza should be COMPLETELY DEMILITARIZED within 48 hours (No machine guns, rockets, missiles, grenades), then we can de-escalate.
Deal?
Don't say you didn't know - video below.
Carving open a pregnant woman, raping girls who attend a music festival, shooting a child in front of the parent, beheading a baby - this is fundamental terrorism.
This is not about land, not about occupation.
This pure evil, this fundamental hatred towards anything that is not Islam, has nothing to do with political or territorial dispute.

Day 13 - Sixth Set of Thoughts on unfolding Events in Israel and now around the world.
This is what you NEED TO KNOW about increasing pro-terror organizations on college campuses, Radical Islamists in London and Sydney, Hamas, the Houthis, Iran and Hezbollah. You need to know this and understand it deeply so you understand what we, collectively, are facing.
This is not only Hamas. This is a global ideology and death cult that has congealed to a global movement of hate, rape and murder. It is not a far leap at this point from what happened in Be’ery and Kfar Aza to Columbia, Harvard, Sydney or London.
I am sure many of you watched the video of Columbia professor Shai Davidai telling parents that universities cannot (and will not) guarantee their kids’ safety on college campuses. I am sure you have seen the video of the students at Baruch College giving the finger to signs of kidnapped children, videoing it and putting it on social media. I am sure you have heard that the Houthis want to join the fight. You have seen the US embassy in Beirut be attacked. You have seen the synagogues in Tunisia and Berlin. You have seen the streets and cars that these radical Islamists have set on fire in Berlin. You must know and tell yourself everyday that there are almost 200 people still kidnapped in Gaza including many children.
You might have asked yourself, what the hell would drive people to kidnap children, to carve up a pregnant woman’s stomach (I have seen the video), to poke out the eyes and chop the heads off of innocent children, of numerous civilians ( I have seen those too). You must also ask yourself, could this happen to me, because the answer is it could. And it will, if you do not act now. Imagine if this was you? You do not need to imagine, the cases above make clear it is on its way.
I want to try to help you understand the moment we are in. To do that, go back to other ideological movements. The playbook is straightforward: Build content, propaganda. Work hearts and minds. Capture academia, which includes some of the most shallow and confused smart people you can find. They work and indoctrinate people burned out on capitalism, from unstable or unsupportive families, who just need something to believe in. They invade their feeds and feed their vacuous minds and souls with a cause to sympathize with. They co-opt and appropriate symbols that disaffected people can relate to such as arch-terrorist Yehiye Sinwar using images of policemen pinning a black man to the ground to advance the terrorist Hamas cause. And, then, there is a moment where the ideology reaches critical mass and can do some real damage by activating those hearts and indoctrinated minds. That is the moment we are in now.
Influencing hearts and minds and activating them is much easier today in our era of social media, the era of post truth and the era of global, instant, communication. For the last 20+ years, global radical Islam has cultivated an ideology for people to connect to, to identify with. They have been indoctrinating and cultivating hearts and minds. They have exported some of those to western countries. It shows itself in various ways: ISIS. Al Qaeda, Hamas, Pro-terror student groups, those shouting “gas the Jews”, terrorists at soccer matches, extreme left-wing groups around the world. All of these groups are deeply connected, if not the same, because they subscribe to the same ideology. Ideology is the core of the movement. It is ideology, not geography. It dresses itself in many fancy clothes but it is trying to attack a weak western world, in the middle of an economic crisis (same happened post depression) where people’s resolve is very weak.
Here is another way to think about it. The PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) was a 1.0 terrorist foe. It had a command structure. A leader (Yasser Arafat) and, a priori, wanted geography. In reality, they wanted to throw the Jews/Israel into the sea. ISIS/HAMAS is a 2.0 terrorist foe. It is decentralized. It does not require command (though it certainly knows how to use it), just activation of its ideological proponents or sympathizers. Since it is decentralized, it is everywhere.
Ideologies, deeply held, do not require coordination. They require a call to battle because the indoctrination is complete. Hamas’ massacre of rape, child murder and mutilation is that call to battle. They have broken the veil of fear that was restraining some of these global cells. Hamas and their doctrine is a clear and present danger to the US, to Israel and to the entire free world.
The numbness of social media scrolling has normalized both the attack vector and these atrocities. The terrorists and their supporters have watched feckless university presidents equivocate and they have gained more power. They have gained more confidence. They have seen terror succeed at a soccer match in Brussels. The officials knew about the Tunisian-born radical but did not do anything for 7 years. They understand the current weak resolve of the system. Activated by the ideology, the terrorist in Brussels answered the call to battle.
This is critical. If you do not root out these ideologies, such as Nazism, Communism or Radical Islam when they are small, it becomes too late. So, we need to get them off streets and off campuses, out of Gaza and out of Lebanon. We need to be firm and fierce about this.
Ask yourself why did Hamas do this if they knew Israel would retaliate? The answer is that they are possessed by a nihilist death cult ideology of radical Islam. It is deep. It is pervasive and it has been driven into them for decades by the playbook. They rape, pillage, plunder and murder. They hate Jews, Christians and most peace loving Muslims too. They murdered Bedouins who serve in the Israeli army and some just on the side of the road. They sent many rockets to Bedouin towns in Israel. They hacked Nepalis and Thailandis to death. That is why when you listen to the recording of the call of Hamas and its evil twin Islamic Jihad, they are nonplussed when the rocket fell on innocent Muslims in the parking lot of the hospital. They do not care. They are totally indoctrinated. They believe that if you are not part of the movement, actively fighting, you too do not deserve to live. You are just a tool.
Why is the West next? Why is Israel just the initial salvo? Because this is a global ideology that has congealed, is coherent to its sick purveyors and devotees and has been given its call to battle. This is not about politics or land. This is a global ideology that has found its moment and will stop at nothing until we obliterate it. They’re tearing down posters of kidnapped babies today, and assaulting people who have the temerity to express a modicum of sympathy for the massacred Jews. What do you think they will do tomorrow?
The leap from Baruch College to Be’ery, from Columbia to Kfar Azza, from Harvard to the Houthis, is small.
We must equal that resolve. This is the time for all people of conscience, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Atheists, people who love life, liberty and prosperity, to rally, to break their silence and be brave. Show courage now because if you do not, you will be next. First they came for the Jews…
