It’s like Twitter but it’s much friendlier. I’m slowly winding down Twitter although I’ll have to maintain it for a little while yet.
Please join me over on Instagram.
I find myself posting less and less on Twitter and don’t really like it here anymore for a number of reasons.
I’m toying with deleting it, and even though I’ve already contemplated this before, I may well do so.

The sonic world of nocturnal migration is fascinating. It shines a light on the unknown & lets you hear birds in an out of place context. Here is a Coot migrating along the Ballycotton cliffs @ 00:25am. Hear the crashing waves & echo of its calls bounce off the cliffs as it goes.
Dawn chorus day can be every day, and some can sound very different. Check out this sea-cliff chorus recorded yesterday along our rugged Atlantic coast.
Dawn chorus from the sea-cliffs. Life abounds amidst the pounding waves of our Atlantic Ocean. Wrens and Stonechats bring melody to the salty air. Ravens croak from their nest ledge as Rock Pipits tumble in song from a height.

A Blackbird serenades the air at dawn. Perched atop a golden Gorse high over a rocky sea: his sweet melody wafts through the air, pairing perfectly with the fragrant piña colada aromas of the sun-yellow Gorse flowers.
Listen for Curlew mimicry!

Ireland's "Fairy Birds". A courtship recording. Red-necked phalarope is one of our rarest breeding waders. The roles of the sexes are flipped. The female is the brighter & the male incubates! When the female lays, her job is done & she leaves to winter at sea off Peru!
Happy St. Patrick's day everyone!

Waiting for hundreds, maybe thousands of rooks and jackdaws to come to roost high in the treetops for the night. It's an incredible collective sound. Powerful. Will they come? Only time will tell 🤞

It was such a hugh surprise & honor to be asked on the Tommy Tiernan Show.
I'm so overwhelmed at the response I've gotten from everyone (will reply tomorrow). Emotional. Thank you so much. It genuinely means a lot to me (and our birds!). #tommytiernanshow
