Arteta is trusting Lewis-Skelly more! In a big game when the midfield was rocking, Arteta chose the youngster! Previously, he was protecting him from such high pressure moments

That internal standard is why they're top, honestly.

Arteta has turned these players into their own coaches on the pitch. The communication, intensity and willingness to hold each other accountable are things you can't buy in the transfer market.

Simple, he painted a picture of a house, told them that their 18 yard is their 'house' and tasked them to ALWAYS defend it like their lives depended on it. Arteta is s!ck.

I think it’s the high demands they set each other. For sure they knew what winning at anfield today would mean and say, they wanted it BADLY and made it happen! Gotta love the high standards they hold each to, all in it together, no finger pointing Or bad attitudes.

Love. If you love your job and love the people you work with. You wouldn't even want to go home cause Workplace feeld like home. Also they never want to let each other down so they help each other clear their mistakes and then confront each other after the job is done.

That's what is called "Field Discipline". Despite the fact that there's a Captain on the Pitch, none of'em is above the field discipline.

This is what leadership looks like when it spreads throughout the squad. Rice doesn't have to wait for Arteta, Gabriel doesn't have to wait for the captain. Everyone takes responsibility.

he signed leaders, Rice could be captain for England, Odegaard captain for Norway, Gabby and Cala could be captains for Brazil and Italy, they dont need to be told anything

The one I saw was when Odeegard wildly gestured at Madueke to press, Madueke pointed back at him too all this while they didn't get their eyes off the ball 😂 I say see my mad boys 😂

Arsenal players were coaching themselves on the field today. They kept screaming at each other, demanding better froom one another. I saw Rice scream at Odegaard, Gabby at Calafiori, Calafiori at Gabi, even Konsa shouted at Gabriel. These guys are built like machines. What exactly does Arteta do to these guys?

Jack Grealish is allowed an endless free pass in terms of his behaviour in a way that others - like Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford & others - are never given. It isn't hard to figure out what the difference is. Every time he goes on a bender, there is always a counter briefing coming about something he did. None of which is a bad thing, of course. It's just that the same grace is never given to others that is to him.
🚨 Jack Grealish not involved for Everton at Newcastle United tonight. #EFC attacker yet to regain fitness following omission from EFL Cup win over #NUFC last week after breach of club discipline. Unclear if 31yo returns v Coventry on Friday @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/7738572…

Coming of age in NW DC I had few heroes but Michael Wilbon and Tony Kormheiser. I developed my love for writing and reading from these guys at the Post. Get well soon Mr. Wilbon!!
