Texans have tolerated the Rose Bowl’s claims of being the best college football setting long enough.
It’s time to build a football stadium in Palo Duro Canyon.

I’m not sure whose voice I hear in my head when I write, but I know I hear the edges of @ryanculwell’s accent in it. Half our lives ago, I sat on his front porch on a Sunday afternoon, listening to him write a song, and he leaned his head back and words tumbled out. Nonsense at first. But then they took a shape. Neighborhood kids appeared in the yard and watched. I’ve been amazed for a long time that his audacity to knock on the door of the muse. When I sit at the desk, I think of that afternoon. Some times the poems arrive; other times nonsense. But I know they’re there largely because Ryan pointed out the place they live.

Expert rules analyst says refs missed the review that took 7 points from Auburn and gave 3 to Oklahoma and the SEC admits there should have been a 15 yard penalty on an illegal play that resulted in 7 points from Oklahoma.
This is one of the toughest losses I’ve ever had to swallow as an Auburn fan.
Completely unacceptable

I imagine Bill Gates has never read a poem or held a worm in his hands or lost a perch off the dock at his pond. He has no uncles, no long naps under the shade tree, no sweat stain in his hat, no language that belongs to him. He is subject to numbers, to efficiency, born dead.
Jonathan Franzen’s Freedom should be avoided by people who desire wholeheartedness and sincerity. I especially recommend artists avoid his work.
Fun question from @Sam__Enright:
What’s the “anti-reading list” in your field of expertise?
Writing songs vs playing songs

Richard Feynman embodied deep curiosity.
You don't understand what "first principles" really mean until you listen to a physicist reasoning.
It's about going to the end of the world chasing a chain of 'whys'.

We are incentivized to make the same record twice.
It’s safer to grow your brand a little bit than try to be great, making it 15% higher up the mountain, but never to the top.
If you swing big and fail it could disrupt the cash flow engine.
You are still stuck in the matrix. If you had taken the other pill your kids wouldn’t know one name this kid listed but they’d fight you that Ricky Skaggs’ Heartbroke is actually better than Rodney George or Guy’s while you play dominoes.
