Shlomo Artzi is one of the most popular and successful musicians in 🇮🇱 history.
What you probably didn’t know is that he is the great-nephew of Rav Meir Shapiro, the man responsible for the greatest Torah revolution in modern history.
You’ll want to buckle up for this one 👇🏻👇🏻
Thread 🧵: When Shlomo Artzi sang with the Belzer Choir:
Nearly 30 years ago, when Yosef Moshe Kahana (of L’Chaim Tisch fame) and the Belzer choir were recording his classic song “Kol Zman,” there was a knock at the studio door. They were shocked to see Shlomo Artzi, one of Israel’s leading secular singers standing in the doorway. 1/

Tonight, 7 Cheshvan, marks the yahrzeit of Joseph Rosenberger, who came here after surviving Dachau and revived an entire mitzvah from obscurity. He left no descendants, but in his will, he asked us not to forget him. Please learn or say Tehillim in memory of Yosef ben R' Moshe HaLevi 🙏
Ohtani celebrating like he’s got Brewers sweep +3000 and the group chat just started doing the math 😭 💸
El-Sayed doubles down on “Hurt People Hurt People” and then ends by warning Michiganders that voting for Rogers may cause them to pay higher gas prices. I feel like we are living in a world where the bar is the floor and candidates keep bringing shovels
El Sayed: You’re going after my mom?
Rogers: Not going after your mom but where your mom was working at. I was going after that organization that was indicted for funneling money to Al-Qaeda. Thats your mom. My mom worked at a local Chamber of Commerce.

On this 3rd anniversary of the 10/7 massacre, my commitment to our ally remains unchanged.
Israel has my full support for what’s necessary to prevail and erase the last 2,000 Hamas cowards.
The world cannot ever forget the horror of that day.
Three years ago this week, NYC's Jewish community was gripped by shock, grief, and fear. @ericadamsfornyc met that moment with the greatest speech of my adult life. He stood with us when it counted. His leadership and friendship are dearly missed.

“Men in uniforms milled about, yarmulkes of every stripe and color on their heads, sleeping bags rolled up in corners. Their faces looked young until you met their eyes and saw something far older looking back at you. This was Yasar Darom.”

“Dad I’m calling you from the phone of a Jew! I just killed her and her husband. With my own hands I killed 10 Jews!”
Chilling conversation from Oct 7th, between a Hamas terrorist from Gaza and his father, who is crying with pride.
Never forget this sick evil!
On the morning of 10/7, as Israelis were still being butchered in the streets, @netanyahu received his first call from a foreign leader, French President Macron, urging Israel to stand down. The only thing France has ever defended with real conviction is its right to surrender.

My Uncle Ari was killed on 9/11.
After yesterday’s attempted hijacking of a plane headed to Israel, my Mom left this at his name at the 9/11 Memorial:
“Hatred did not crash another plane today.”
Am Yisrael Chai. 🇮🇱🇺🇸
Tonight is the yahrzeit of my uncle Ari, who was killed in the World Trade Center on 9/11.
With the 25th anniversary of 9/11 approaching, I wanted to share a conversation with my brother Elie about our uncle, his legacy, and how his death impacted our family.

Flydubai and Etihad are the only two airlines in the world that continued flying to Israel even during the most difficult times.
The UAE and the airline deserve for us to set aside speculation and allow them to thoroughly investigate what actually happened.
I trust them.
Asked how many children she has, [Mrs.] Leiter gave a painful answer, referring to her son Moshe, who was killed in the war in Beit Hanoun, and to Neria, who is now fighting for recovery.
“I have eight children. One is in Heaven, one is somewhere in between, and six more."
Please continue to daven for Neria Dov ben Chana!

Incredible Photo Collection—Sukkos 1974: Fifty years ago, Israel was still reeling from the loss of more than 2,600 soldiers and a deep sense of national pride after the Yom Kippur War. Yet, amidst the pain, the nation found strength in tradition. 1/6
