Slovenia articulates the exact thoughts I hold daily. The widespread violence inflicted upon the Iranian populace is supported by extensive documentation, yet the severity of this oppression continues to be disregarded. Furthermore, extensive digital censorship within the nation restricts access to information, directly violating the basic liberties enshrined in UN Article 19.
A small country said the words Europe would not say from the UN podium. Slovenia stood on the right side of history.
Janez Janša stood at the UN and named Iran. Executions of political prisoners, young intellectuals and anyone who opposes the regime. A system that wants total control of social, political, and economic life. And then the sentence that should have come from Paris or Berlin: there is no sufficiently serious condemnation of this inside the United Nations.
That is the scandal. Not that Slovenia spoke. That it had to.
The rest of the European Union spent the week on the familiar choreography. Walkouts for the cameras. Statements about navigation and ceasefires. Kallas sitting down with Araghchi as if the man across the table were a counterpart and not a courier for a killing machine. They can find their voice for Israel in an afternoon. For the Iranian gallows they reach for process.
Janša called the thing by its name: inconsistency. Principles that apply when the corpse is fashionable and go quiet when the corpse is Iranian. January was a massacre. The hangings did not stop when the cameras left. Political prisoners are still being processed into statistics. If that does not “demand serious attention,” the phrase human rights has become a costume.
Credit Slovenia for doing the minimum the continent pretends is its brand. One prime minister from a country of two million said what the machinery of Brussels would not put in a plenary sentence. This is European abdication with a Slovenian footnote.
The EU has lost the moral high ground it keeps citing. You cannot lecture the world about values while the only precise accounting of Iranian executions in that hall comes from Slovenia. The cowards chose the softer file. Janša chose the dead. History will not confuse those two choices, and neither will the Iranian people.
When principle meets action. This is how @PsiphonInc can Keep Up!
Grateful to @LindseyGrahamSC and @SenatorLankford for their support of internet freedom and efforts to keep Iranians connected to the open internet.
As Wired notes:
“Psiphon says that Republican senators Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and James Lankford of Oklahoma were key supporters.”

Conduit is the consort and informs the Psiphon Network. Conduit: Keep Up!
Conduit is one of several tools Psiphon uses to connect users in Iran. If you notice fewer connections to your Conduit station, it doesn’t mean users aren’t getting online. Psiphon intelligently selects the most effective way to bypass filtering at any given moment, using multiple pathways to keep people connected.

Official Response: We’ve seen claims that Conduit Stations in Iran are degrading the network. That’s not accurate. Conduit stations are running worldwide, including in Iran, and are designed to work together so reliable connections remain available. Stations that can’t reliably move traffic are naturally excluded from most connection attempts, and the network adapts dynamically as conditions change. There is nothing inherently counteractive about operating a Conduit station in Iran, although only a very small share of traffic runs through those stations, with most connections routing through stations outside the country.

Official Response:
We’ve seen a lot of questions about why some Conduit Stations aren’t receiving connections right now.
This does not mean Conduit is broken or offline. There are no system or performance issues with Conduit.
Conduit is designed to respond to changing network conditions. When censorship pressure is low and access routes are open, fewer users need to connect through Conduit, so some stations may see little or no traffic. As blocking increases, Conduit becomes more heavily utilized to help users get connected. This fluctuation in activity is expected.
Keeping your Station running still matters. Stations that remain online and stable are treated as reliable and are prioritized when conditions change and demand increases.
In short, lower activity now doesn’t mean Conduit isn’t working. It means the network is in a quieter phase.
Thank you to everyone continuing to support the network!
Do it! Keep Up!
Go follow @PsiphonConduit to get updates on how we’re helping Iranians access the internet!

Conduit Station Operators have created over 4M connections (up from 1.4M yesterday). Please keep posting, this is magic.
Now that's the kind of enthusiasm that make a difference. Help @PsiphonConduit connect everyone.
Posts like this are making a big difference, @PsiphonInc and @PsiphonConduit are picking up where conventional VPNs left off.
It is amazing to see such organic growth of an idea that @PsiphonInc has been working on for over 2 years. People are the power.
