I praised Rohit Shetty's hosting on Saturday, but after watching Sunday's Weekend Ka Vaar, I genuinely missed Salman Khan. And there's a specific reason for that. Rohit was confident, commanding and well-prepared. I still appreciate how he handled several difficult conversations. But the Scout OP, Love Gill and Kaashvi Hiranandani controversy needed more than strong questioning. It needed someone to challenge the narrative itself. Both Scout and Love deserve criticism for failing to maintain appropriate boundaries. But when words like "manipulation", "trap" and "phasaya" were used against Love, I expected the host to question whether those accusations were actually justified. Criticising someone's actions is fair. Questioning their entire character without sufficient evidence is a different matter. And that's where I missed Salman Khan. After years of hosting Bigg Boss, Salman has developed a familiarity with the show's dynamics that isn't easy to replicate. I can't say for certain how he would have handled this particular situation. But based on his hosting style, I would have expected him to interrupt, challenge the accusations and demand clearer answers from Scout as well. Rohit brought authority to the episode. What I missed was the sense that someone would step in when the conversation shifted from accountability to personal allegations. This doesn't change my opinion that Rohit could become an excellent permanent host someday. But Saturday reminded me of Rohit's potential. Sunday reminded me why Salman's presence still matters.
