Rapid recap of Raptors win against Bulls & Kawhi’s debut! - Historic win, unreal defense - Kawhi ramping up “can’t rush greatness” - IQ, very strong - Scottie, managing pace - CMB & Graves, bash bros - looking forward to more!!

good question! since Kawhi came into the league he’s been one of the best at rim finishing wings/forwards in the NBA - was above 70% during his Clippers tenure! this *should* come around pretty quickly as he ramps up

I havent watched Kawhi in past years. Perhaps he's not good a touch shots around the rim hemce why he takes so many middies? I have no clue just a hypothesis

Before the benches emptied the Raptors defense held the Bulls to: 81 ORTG / 68 half court ORTG - and only allowed transition on 4% of possessions weak team, but absolutely smashed them

CMB & Graves are decidedly winning the physicality battle against Wilson & Miller here really nice

halftime notes: - Bulls have a big bias towards paint defense, excellent volume from IQ, thought RJ forced some stuff at the rim - Scottie impressive in small doses as a slow it down, strong scorer, good on the glass - Kawhi feeling it out - CMB & Jak look good

on a team with Scottie & Kawhi and he looks like the best defender by a good margin super impressive

CMB has been an absolute crusher on defense so physical up front and been really good at erasing space and distance when he has to

Kawhi will be fine he’s just missed like 5 layups, he missed a bunch of touch shots in warmups as well I’m glad he’s at the rim a lot

interesting that a lot of Scottie’s halfcourt possessions are mid post touches so far everyone else (RJ/Kawhi/IQ) playing out of flow (pnr/dho) but a little more rigid for Scottie

Bulls are losing Quickley on every third possession, he is absolutely killing them with the open jumpers

Raps getting everything early by playing fast, Kawhi helps provide shot making when things slow down, no surprises there didn’t like RJ w/ 75 feet of pressure on Giddey, saw breakdowns most possessions
