My sincere gratitude goes to the @ghana_airforce and the @modghana for facilitating the repatriation of 120 Nigerian nationals who were arrested during #OperationCyberhunt. This sting operation, led by the @CSAGhana in conjunction with other intelligence and security agencies locally and in the UK, Nigeria and the US, led to the rescue of the 120 persons who had been trafficked to Ghana and forced to work in these cybercrime setups. The operation seized 136 mobile phones, 130 laptops, internet connection devices, four motor vehicles, one of which was stolen from Canada, and other digital equipment. The search team also recovered high-value items, including jewellery and ten (10) Nigerian passports. The team is processing 8 other persons for prosecution, and Ghana under President @JDMahama will remain an unfavourable destination for cyber criminals. For God and Country. 🦁🇬🇭

I am delighted to congratulate Her Honour Justice Angela Aseye Attachie, Justice of the Circuit Court of Ghana, on her election to the Bureau of the Council of Europe's Cybercrime Convention Committee (T-CY). The T-CY supports countries in implementing the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime and strengthens international cooperation on investigations and digital evidence. Ghana's @CSAGhana, under the @MoCDTI, working with the CID of the @GhPoliceService and operatives from the National Security Secretariat, struck a decisive blow against cyber criminals through a series of sting operations between 25th and 28th September 2026. The @JDMahama administration is committed to stamping out cybercrime. We are grateful to our international partners, including @NCA_UK and @FBI. My team has just notified me that we have a double fibre cut on the Accra- Winneba and Winneba-Cape Coast routes. This has isolated a large section of the Central region. An estimated 72,754 subscribers served by about 181 RAN sites on the @TelecelGhana network have been affected in the following areas: Winneba & Swedru Sectors: Winneba Campus, Roundabout, Old Town, Lowcost, UEW North Campus, Radio Peace, Agona Swedru, Swedru Exchange, Nyakrom, Kwanyako, Bobikuma, Agona Odoben, Mankrong. Coastal & Transit Corridors: Apam, Mumford, Otuam, Gomoa Fetteh, Gomoa Nyanyano, Senya Beraku, Ajumako GT, Mankessim, Abeadze Dominase, Assin Fosu, Assin Manso, Twifo Praso, Ateiku. Kasoa / Weija Border Spillover: Awutu Bereku, Bawjiase, Potsin, Jei Krodua, Tuba, Weija Ex, New Weija, West Hills Mall, Dark Bortianor, Aplaku Bortianor. The fibre cuts are a result of work by the road contractor on that stretch of road. Telecel Engineers are on site working to restore service, while another team is engaging the contractor to halt digging to prevent further compromise and degradation of service in surrounding areas. My team has just notified me that we have suffered a triple cut on three different fibre routes supplying capacity to the five Northern Regions and parts of the Oti Region simultaneously. On the Kintampo - Buipe [MTN Section], multiple cuts occurred at 0419GMT. On the Wakawaka - Bamboi [Telecel Section], the cuts occurred at 1136GMT. Then, on the Hohoe - Jasikan [NITA Section], cuts affected the line at 1125GMT. Teams from @MTNGhana, @TelecelGhana and the @NITAGhana have been dispatched and are working to identify the causes of the cuts and restore service. The cuts have disrupted service in the affected regions. 694 2G and 3G sites and 521 4G sites are currently experiencing service denial or significant degradation. Fibre cuts continue to disrupt service delivery. Still, I am confident the teams working under the supervision of the @NCAGhana will begin restoring service within a few hours, and we truly regret the inconvenience. For God and Country. 🦁🇬🇭
