I don't mind the 7YO & 8YO saying I'm "talking nonsense" on our way to holiday club, or any time really. (They're not necessarily wrong.) However, following me through the village chanting "you're a big noncey-noncey" is not really the vibe I'm going for, but thanks anyway guys.

17YO has been enjoying the freedom that driving brings and took his oldest friend out for a spin on Friday night. Her mum and I both agreed that he would be v sensible and look after her well. He took her on a tour of all the dogging sites of Bolton.

Stress at peak levels this morning with A Level results for the 18YO and a driving test for one of the 17YO twins. Worst case scenario: tears and disappointment. Best case scenario: one will be available to collect the other from drunken late night celebrations later.

BEST CASE SCENARIO! 🎉 And she’s already booked him to take her into Manchester at 4pm. 🤣 (Would like to offer some perspective here and point out that the new driver couldn’t leave school fast enough after GCSEs and the A Level smasher can’t drive for shit.)

We are on track for the best case scenario! Tears of joy so far… No pressure for the 17YO, then.

Before Covid, we booked an all-inc holiday for us & 5 kids as an easy option. Finally made it after a 2 yr delay BUT 3 teens now old enough to drink free cocktails (with entirely predictable consequences). Meanwhile 2 small boys need full time supervision. Coming home for a rest.

Particularly enjoyed taking 7 YO to play on inflatables shortly after peeling a 17 YO off a sun lounger after he’d slept there all night in his own vomit. #proud
