Republican @TomTiffanyWI, who supported President Donald Trump's attempts to overturn his 2020 loss in the battleground state of Wisconsin, said Wednesday he did it because of concerns with election funding from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Tiffany's statement he released in January 2021 explaining his opposition to certifying Wisconsin's election results did not mention the Zuckerberg money:

Tiffany repeated his concerns, first voiced in 2021, about clerks in Milwaukee and Dane counties advising voters they could claim to be “indefinitely confined” due to the COVID-19 pandemic and receive absentee ballots without showing a photo ID.
Tiffany's Democratic challenger @DavidCCrowley wasn't buying it.
"He didn’t say anything nefarious was going on with our elections,” Crowley said. “He didn’t say anything happened throughout the process. He just didn’t like the fact of how money was being spent.”

That is up from the 33,644 people who voted in-person absentee on the first day it was offered in 2022.
That is a 65% increase.

This will be Tiffany's first-ever debate for statewide office. Crowley did many forums and one debate during the Democratic primary.
