Reality vs. "dramatic computer re-enactment." I don't like saying it, but they're getting pretty good. 🤖

It's been a minute. Rest assured, I continue to be up to no good - making browsers do things they weren't originally intended for.
Today's work: a ridiculous Gulp.js script. Hacking console.log calls into a simplified UI, including a progress bar. github.com/scottschiller/Arm…
I should add, you should never do this as it's evil and bad and will arguably break when Gulp updates and changes something.
In the meantime, here's how I did it.

20+ hours of video shot over two months, distilled to a few seconds: the restoration of a legendary AKAI MPC 60 drum machine. Stay tuned.
Spotify / djay integration returns on Windows, but not on iOS: IMHO, the most important one. (Presumably, license / contract-related.) theverge.com/news/784347/spo…
Ah-ha: The Spotify integration is back for djay on iOS and Android. Most excellent news. macrumors.com/2025/12/11/spo…
Sometimes, things just line up. Night sky, with light from flame while camping. Super, natural British Columbia. 🏕️✨

In retrospect, my "alternate choices" list (from my blogging days) has aged well. I forgot about that.
Given the chance:
1) Meet your heroes.

Bless the folks live-streaming video game footage on YouTube labeled as "Super Bowl 2025." Tens of thousands of people watching, eventually figuring out something is not quite right - sort of like the video loop in "Speed." 🚌📼
Twenty years ago today was my first day working at Yahoo! HQ in Silicon Valley proper.
I got to meet my heroes, work with some great people and build some fun things at scale. It was a pivotal career experience, and I owe it to a number of folks who believed me worth hiring.
I like to think I haven't changed all that much, of course; I still have too much fun making whimsical things in web browsers. armor-alley.net
