Let’s put on our thinking caps for a second, G2 probably has a legal team and Perkz was probably freelancing for them. + Such Contracts have some heavy Morality Clauses that allows the company to terminate the contract without any legal issues, those Clauses protect the company
There is a very real possibility that G2 firing @Perkz here is actually illegal under German employment law.
1. I don't happen to agree with him, 2. I am NOT an expert, and 3. do not take legal advice from me, but I believe he might have a legal case either for Freedom of Expression, or for Religious freedom.
Perkz publicly identified himself as a Catholic and expressed his opposition to abortion (which I DON'T happen to agree with), based on his belief (consistent with the catholic view) that "human life" begins at conception.
According to the 5 minutes of reading I've done: Articles 4 and 5 of Germany's Basic Law protect religious freedom and freedom of expression. These protections are ofcourse not absolute, but German courts must take them into account when balancing employees' rights against employers' interests.
And there is a similar legal precedent.
"In 2023, German football club Mainz 05 fired Anwar El Ghazi over controversial social-media statements concerning Israel and Palestine.
El Ghazi sued, and WON. German courts found his freedom of expression outweighed the club's interests in the circumstances, making his immediate dismissal invalid. Mainz's final appeal was rejected in April 2026, making the ruling legally binding and leaving the club having to pay El Ghazi approximately €1.5 million in back pay and bonuses."
Btw. Mainz, (the team) also tried to argue that El Ghazi's statements fundamentally contradicted the club's "values and principles" and they lost.
