we were able to rank number 1 on Google + LLMs and go from 0 to 7 figures in just 10 days
and all we did was - use exact match domains for search terms like:
"best data labs"
"best ai data labs"
"best data labelling"
"best data labelling for ai"
"best data labelling platform"
"best data labelling software"
"best data labelling tools"
"best data brokers"
"best enterprise fine tuning services"
we noticed the massive amounts of $ flowing into the "sell your data" space from the likes of @mercor and @micro1_ai
and immediately knew that the traffic and visibility in this space for keywords like "best data labs" is highly valuable
everyone is racing to either sell or acquire data, but the toughest challenge for these parties is to find one another
1) data sellers want a counterparty that is trustworthy and reliable
2) data buyers want to get their hands on as much data as possible (various data types & counterparties)
these transactions come with high urgency and high avg. ticket sizes
the combination of all these make it the perfect niche to secure positioning in!
so we got to work and:
1) secured highly valuable exact match domains (they match the search intent keywords 1:1)
2) deployed highly relevant, carefully architected content that induces lexical proximity to the keywords of interest (convincing the search engines + LLMs that our information on the topic is rich and relevant)
3) focused on clean and functional entity mapping that consistently and coherently links our entity to the desired keywords
4) waited for 10 days
and now we rank for all these high value keywords and search intent!
we have since received offers by neolabs to rent the space on these domains and a 7 figure offer for acquiring these assets outright
when we asked why, they explained that securing just one highly relevant lead from this type of positioning can yield an asymmetric return and more than offset the costs
what a wild time to be alive!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Domains like bestaidatalabs.com were registered mid-October 2026 for ~$10 each. They rank for low-competition phrases with little to no search volume. The 7-figure offer and "0 to 7 figures" claims could not be independently verified.

poor Salon--if they could have hung on just a little bit longer they might have survived...
RIP
Today, after 31 years, we are saddened to announce that Salon is ceasing publication. It has been an extraordinary privilege. salon.com/2026/11/05/goodbye…
I got a serious offer of $2.5M for TrustMRR.com, all cash.
What would you say?
quick PSA if you buy backlinks or acquire sites/domains with juice:
be wary of "too good to be true" deals over the next couple of weeks. Here's why:
@Ahrefs is updating their DR (domain rating) score to more accurately reflect a site's true authority, insofar as their rating system can do this.
People have gotten VERY good at doing things to bump up the DR of their site so they can sell links/sell websites for more money.
DR != to the actual performance of a site, it's just a shorthand based on an algorithm that people have learned to exploit over time and which Ahrefs has been slow to respond to (because they *do not need to,* basically).
But now they are updating how this algorithm works, and it takes into account--I assume, I don't know how this actually works--some of these methods.
A lot of people are seeing their inflated sites go from DR 70 to DR 7, and similar. A lot of people may try and sell more links for cheaper to move inventory, or sell the whole property while the knowledge is asymmetric.
Don't hate the player hate the game, etc.
But now you can check this yourself, via @ViperChill's new DR checker at Detailed (property of Ahrefs):

Hope that's helpful...

Introducing Honest Thumbnails
A Chrome Extension to unslop YouTube thumbnails with stills from the video. Brings back the early 2010s vibe of Youtube where not everything was about clickbait.
While looking into how @karpathy's HackerTube works, I learnt that YouTube has a CDN that provides still frames from the following chunks ¼, ½, ¾ of each video.
So as you can imagine, it was only a matter of time until Claude turned this into a Chrome Extension. Honestly, it took me longer to make the icon than it took Claude to write the code.
Open Source and MIT. Fork it, steal it, do whatever your heart wants with it.

end-user adoption stop you from investing in a TLD!
As .si continues to get stronger, the people who didn’t take a chance will post about lack of end user adoption or such like.
It’s perfectly natural, and to be fair , they have to protect their interests. It won’t make much difference.
They could be right of course . But use your own judgement , based on the full picture of what you see , including their posts . It’s all relevant
No need for blocking and name calling .
It’s all part of the game of course .
Listen to your brain, not your heartstrings .
super interesting numbers, and the thing I keep thinking about:
.AI worked because it became accepted industry use and THEN domain investors followed.
Claude .ai was just hand registered in 2018 or something. That cannot happen with .si, all the worthwhile names, ALL of them are held mostly by domain investors.
You're a startup, you have to choose between a shitty .si and a shitty .com, which one are you picking?
In a non-.com space where all the good brands are held with dopey moonshot pricing, that's a space that isn't going to hit critical mass and THAT is what's going to hold .SI back.
That and how cool it is to be told what defines your industry by an executive order lol
YES SIR!
I checked the nameservers of 370,000 single English dictionary words on the .si tld. Here are some stats:
With working nameservers - 46,359
Domain investor, confirmed - 21,704 (46.8%)
Domain investor, likely - 10,364 (22.4%)
Brand protection firms - 507
Registrar parked - 4391
Real hosting - 8493
That means almost 70% of .si single word domain names are very likely investor held or use a for sale lander. That is a huge number, compared to roughly an estimated 8-9% in .com that has a for sale lander, or around 10% for .ai, although almost half of all .ai domains are not actually in use.
