At this point I really wouldn't be surprised if Bioware were shutdown because EA saw them going the same direction as Veilguard with ME and chose to just call it before they spent hundreds of millions on something that won't measure up.
Even if you do put aside all the politics, the games just sucked. In the last decade they put out Andromeda, Anthem, and Veilguard. They’re all just objectively bad games. You can’t lose money on every project for over a decade and stay in business.
I feel like each game became slightly less "medieval", until Veilguard went off a cliff into full modernism. 2 had some Renaissance elements, Inquisition had some early modern elements, even if they were still broadly medieval.
More recently, during the release of Veilguard, they called all who dared criticise it "incels" and "womenhaters" for one thing. Defensive generalizations that I refuse to tolerate.
True but EA was critical to a Anthem and Veilguard by trying to make BioWare not make a normal RPG, and screwing them with more needless work or restrictions,
Did they alone do it? No. BioWare fucked themselves as well.
But it’s not like BioWare was alone its failures.

Honestly Veilguard wasnt horrible it just wasnt good. They havnt put out a good game in many years at this point so writing was on the wall. Sucks for the employees but this was just a failed studio at this point closing. Nothing more
Bang on anyone that isn't old enough just has to play DAO on ps3 15 of technology and graphics and id still choose DAO over Veilguard all day
Its not ea's fault that bioware developed bad games that did poorly. That is on bioware devs. Anthem and veilguard did terribly. I loved dragon age origins and kotor but those days are long gone. You cant expect a publisher to keep funding them if they cant deliver.
They we got Andromeda long before Veilguard. So yes, my point was it was a downward spiral, but it only went down from the moment they were acquired, with ME2/3 being the only exception.
So them being sold to Saudi Arabia over a year after Veilguard came out is responsible for the repeated failures that drove them to need to be bought in the first place? You're actually a fucking idiot lol
