When ‘#NoRain’ by @BlindMelonBand came out in 1993, it was pretty much an instant hit, constantly on the radio and MTV.
An endearing music video, a pleasant melody and a nice segue from the hair metal to grunge eras.
When lead vocalist Shannon Hoon died of an overdose, it was a tragedy, but as the years go by it seems to compound. The potential of he and the band could have changed music as much as Nirvana or GnR.
But ‘No Rain’ still stands out as one of the best representations of loneliness, depression and anxiety in modern times.
These lines alone say it all. It popped up on random earlier and I think I’ve listened to it 10 times. It just still hits very hard.
I just want someone to say to me,
‘I'll always be there when you wake’.
You know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today…

Sigue soñando, muchacho, porque cuando dejas de soñar es hora de morir...

Much of the UK has received very little rain since April, and the landscape has shifted from the green of spring to the dry, brown conditions visible now. #UKWeather
