CanSecWest is only a few weeks away.
I don't run my Hardware Implants class very often, and rarely outside the USA, so if you want to take it, this might be your last chance for at least a year.
If you're considering it but haven't registered yet, let us know asap!

The clock is ticking! This is the last week for early registration prices at @BlackHatEvents USA.
I have a new class this year: How to use Secure Boot and Encrypted Firmware.

Having trouble learning hardware hacking from some clanker assistant? You probably need some hands-on time with real hardware.
Applied Physical Attacks # 1 is the perfect intro to understand what's going to happen to a hardware device the moment it gets into attacker's hands.

Hardware Hacking and AI* all using LLMs*:
I've been teaching courses about *Attacking *IoT at Black Hat for over a decade - often using tools that include *Logic *Level *MOSFETs.
Here's my take on some of the hardware courses and what pairs well for different skill levels:

I had more than one request folks who are antsy to start spending their 2025 training budget tomorrow, but were bummed to miss the sale - so I extended the coupon through the end of the week. 20% off online training, now through Saturday.

Got 2024 training budget left over? Need to use it or lose it? I set up coupon code "useitorloseit" for 20% off all my self-paced hardware hacking training.

I highly recommend Joe's courses. They're a great mix of CS/EE degree program foundations/theory and "I need to check that when I get home" practical.
Even if you're not particularly into the hardware side of things, learning about it changes the way you think about software.

I'll be speaking Saturday at @OTapeout about setting and clearing bits...
Why does that matter? Just this week, the "2021 Most Important Hardware Weaknesses" highlighted "CWE-1231: Improper Prevention of Lock Bit Modification"
Tune in (free!) & hear more: opentapeout.dev/
Ever wondered what makes an ASIC secure? If yes, don't miss out on Joe Fitz' @securelyfitz talk about ASIC security. He'll show us 101 ways to flip a bit and 100 ways to prevent it.... wait what?!

OK good news intrepid hardware hackers - you can interact with the SPI flash entirely from test points on the airtag, I should try this with a Tigard as well for the @securinghw buzz (test points as posted at github.com/colinoflynn/airta…).

Decided to model a 3D printable case for my #Tigard last night. Almost perfect for a first test-fit! Just need to sort out some printable switch extension for access to those switches. Printed in orange, of course!
