Self Edge has dropped new Sugar Cane jeans, their “1966 Jean” , that are great Jackpot pants, time-travel perfect repros of 1966 501’s. The denim itself is an exact match!

If you're a nerd, like me, then raw denim can be as fun to explore as tailoring. Check out shops such as @selfedge (my favorite), @blueowlworkshop, @BlueinGreenSoho, @StandardStrange, Division Road, @OkayamaDenim, @tateandyokoshop, @dutildenimshop, and @rivetandhide.

As the cost of vintage jeans went up, people started to make new jeans using these old methods. That's where you get shops such as @selfedge (my favorite denim store). You may ask, "how can jeans cost $300+?" It's because these are made in small batches using niche methods.

Some of the crimes I've seen in San Francisco: - tan shoes worn with dark suits - worsted suit jackets worn as sport coats - oxford shoes worn with casual outfits - dress sneakers - "business backpacks" - Patagonia vests with dress shirt and chinos

In today’s newsletter, I linked up with @andrew3sixteen from @3sixteen to talk about the return of raw denim and how to get back into the game in 2023. Plus, a walk down memory lane as I revisit the first time I discovered raw denim in my teenage years— streetnightlive.substack.com…

bought a $300 leather belt from Self Edge in 2007 and I was kind of annoyed that it was expensive but figured at least it was made well I’ve worn it most days since, and I just realized there’s nothing wrong with it after 15 years Very rare that anything is made that sturdy – at San Francisco, CA

Only in Japan: a self-service used clothing store, open 24 hours, 365 days a year, with no staff and no front door. Immaculately clean, with clothes meticulously organized by color and size. You take whatever you want and pay using a machine. Even has a fitting room!

i’m officially beginning the world’s longest album rollout. my album, “Of Purple,” will drop on November 8, 2031. I will finish it by November 8 this year and put it on a harddrive and bury it. I just need to find a spot that will be undisturbed for a decade.

One of my favorite stores, @selfedge, just released this tee of their stocked brands’ logotypes as redesigned by Greek designer Vassilis Georgiou. Vassilis’ take on the logos was inspired by American underground culture of the 60’s. Design process pics: ateliergeorgiou.com/Self-Edg…
