ofc ppl’s reactions were “that’s not worth it” “why so extreme” and honestly… …quitting internet is 100x easier than I thought. I just texted and called my friends and family and left myself with a ton of boredom It was great: time passed slower, days felt longer, pure calm.

日本語母語話者が話す中国語の特徴： 1. 主語は隙を見ては省略する。 2. 方向補語や離合詞がいつまでも使いこなせない。 3. 中国語ネイティブもほとんど使わない成語や慣用語、書面語をたまに繰り出す。 4. 量詞は結局"个"ばかり使ってる。 5. 接続詞は"因为〜所以"と"虽然〜但是"を多用しがち。

Context: there used to be what are called the second round of simplified Chinese characters（二简字）that tanked badly cuz they're too confusing But a few really neat ones survived in unofficial everyday use, like 歺 in place for 餐 meaning "meal"
