I’ve been working on this story for a while, and I want to thank the Peruvian Baseball Federation for all the help and support that made it possible. For those who aren’t familiar with the history of baseball in Peru, this year marks 100 years of the sport’s history in the country. Baseball was introduced to Peru through the Japanese community, which played an important role in bringing the game there. Today, Peru continues working hard to grow baseball and develop new generations of players. One of their most recent accomplishments was defeating Venezuela 2–1 in extra innings at the 2025 Bolivarian Games, advancing to the gold-medal game. Peru ultimately earned the silver medal after falling to Colombia in the final. Now, the team continues preparing for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games. It has been an exciting and meaningful project, and I hope you all enjoy the story as much as I enjoyed working on it. 🚨 UPDATE: Dolly Parton died following a "brief battle with cancer" with her loved ones by her bedside 🙏🏻 "After bravely facing a brief battle with cancer, Dolly departed her Earthly life today at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center surrounded by loved ones," per her publicist This comes just a few days after she had to virtually accept a Country Music Award, citing health issues.

Rest in peace, Dolly Parton (1946–2026) 💔 I don’t even know how to put this into words. We lost one of the true greats today, not just in country music, but in music, period. Dolly Parton was a songwriter, a singer, an actress, a businesswoman, a philanthropist, and one of the kindest hearts this industry has ever seen. “Jolene.” “9 to 5.” “Coat of Many Colors.” “I Will Always Love You.” These aren’t just songs, they’re pieces of all our lives because we grew up listening to them. Dolly wrote music that crossed generations, crossed genres, crossed borders. And beyond the stage, through the Imagination Library, she put books into the hands of millions of kids and changed lives in ways most artists never even attempt. There will never be another Dolly. The rhinestones may have stopped shining today, but her music, her humor, her heart, those infectious attributes of hers aren’t going anywhere. She will shine forever. I think this incredible tribute by @Pink captures the greatness of Dolly’s life! Rest easy, Dolly. Thank you for the songs, the laughs, the memories, and everything you gave the world. ❤️🕊️ #DollyParton #RIPDollyParton
