Bengaluru Metro: Pink Line's UG section (Tavarekere-Nagawara) has completed track laying. Station works 90% & systems 85% complete. Integrated testing & statutory approvals are planned for H1 2027.
Blue Line Phase 2A is 87% complete, with commissioning targeted for mid-2027, subject to clearances.
Phase 2B (KR Pura-airport) is 61.5% complete. Hebbal-airport stretch is targeted for commissioning by end-2027, while Hebbal-KR Pura is expected by early 2028.

🚨 A SERIOUS QUESTION FOR BENGALURU TRAFFIC POLICE!
We promote Digital India, UPI payments, and a cashless economy. Then why are citizens reportedly being asked to pay traffic fines in cash when they seek digital payment options?
Let’s be clear: Every legitimate fine must come with an official challan, an authorised payment process, and a proper receipt.
If online payment is available, why discourage it? If it isn’t, why not clearly explain the official procedure?
We respect the traffic police and the difficult job they do. But respect and accountability must go hand in hand. Citizens deserve transparency, not confusion over how their fines are collected.
Digital India cannot remain a slogan. It must be reflected in everyday governance.

■Predictable Traffic , but low Preparation by #Bengaluru Traffic Police , leading to major #Traffic Chaos, all the time on Long weekends with large movement of Buses ferrying out, chocking Two Major Roads:
1. Tumakuru Road 2. Hosur Road.
■Plenty of Solutions:
●Force the Buses to ply out via alternate routes like NICE Road via Magadi Road etc, this solves most issue for Tumakuru Road
●Ensure Traffic diversion from Laggere ORR & make Signal free at Goraguntepalya Junction for some hours.
●Staggered Bus hours by instructing Private Bus Operators & KSRTC, shall resolve 50% of issue
●I strongly believe, if @DgpKarnataka Dr.M.A.Saleem, who had resolved Hebbal Flyover mess in 2022
& @Jointcptraffic plans out on alternate routes, traffic discipline, Road equipments, majority of traffic issues , on almost all junctions can be resolved on all the days.
● Goraguntepalya which has wider Road, yet chokes due to absence of Traffic police & Road equipments, needs to be taken on top priority

Currently, Bangalore City Traffic Police seems to be focused on everything other than core traffic management. Their efficiency during VVIP movements proves that effective management is possible, but the same commitment is missing for the general public.
Field officers are more interested in hiding and penalizing individual helmetless riders, while completely ignoring large-scale encroachments of footpaths and main roads by commercial establishments, even in front of police chowkis and stations. Wrong-side riding continues unchecked.
Senior officers like ACPs and DCPs are rarely seen on the ground, and citizen interaction programs by Joint CP Traffic are almost non-existent.

Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), has listed a total of 36 observations following a statutory inspection of the Bengaluru Metro's Kalena Agrahara–Tavarekere section.
BMRCL is required to submit compliance reports before starting the commercial operations

CMRS wrapped up his 3-day statutory inspection of elevated #PinkLine with a visit to the Baiyappanahalli OCC today.
His report is expected next week. BMRCL must comply with observations/conditions before public ops.

Tunnelling finished in October 2024. The original deadline was 2017. What is still pending is not geology. It is systems, testing, trial runs and approvals. That is the part a metro agency is supposed to own. Ten years late, and not one name attached to the slip. Bengaluru is paying this delay every morning in traffic. @OfficialBMRCL is paying it in press notes. A project that can bore a tunnel under the city and still cannot commission it is not short of engineers. The sanction is a prerequisite for commissioning & will be submitted to CMRS.
