DESIGNART TOKYO started in 2017 with the concept of "INTO THE EMOTIONS" and is now celebrating its 9th year. Continuing to evolve as a platform that transcends the boundaries of design and art to create pure emotional experiences, it has grown to attract approximately 220,000 visitors last year.
This year's theme is “Brave: The Pursuit of Instinctive Beauty.
The word “Brave” was chosen for this theme in the hope that people will not be influenced by their surroundings, but rather believe in their own thinking and the power of their team, and take a bold challenge. We are looking forwards to 10 days of gathering creative and original expressions.
Entries can be made via the website from tomorrow, Saturday 1 March.

The review is out. This article focuses on how Rodney uses his body as both medium and subject to explore the deep entanglement of disease and racial discrimination. I tried to reveal the inherent, powerful resilience embedded in his artworks.
Donald Rodney’s solo exhibition Visceral Canker is currently on view at Whitechapel Gallery in London from 12 February to 4 May 2025. Rodney was born in 1961 to Jamaican parents and grew up in Birmingham as a second-generation immigrant.

#KeiichiTanaami has achieved unparalleled recognition for his interdisciplinary activities, as an art director, experimental filmmaker, animator and artist.
This exhibition is the first major retrospective showcasing the internationally acclaimed artist Keiichi Tanaami.
Tanaami is known for vivid, color-drenched works that intensely reflect his childhood memories of World War II and the impact of the American pop culture he encountered after the war. The exhibition presents an array of works by the astoundingly productive artist, including archival materials from past decades, tracing the entirety of Tanaami’s creative journey over more than 60 years. This unprecedented, comprehensive exploration of Tanaami’s oeuvre is organized around the theme of “memory.”
