🧵Thread:
I have been having a tough time, which I am far too used to, but an even tougher time than usual pulling out of it. So, I am going to try something that helped me a couple of years ago.
Whenever things are bad, I know I have my best friend by my side to help me. And I know many of you do, too. So, I thought I would once again share something I love to see here on this hellsite:
My favorite dogs on Twitter.
We'll start, of course, with my favoritest and the bestest boy of all.
He is my light in dark places, my Hobbes, and my savior.
Bob Duff is a propagandist with flabby arms. Do not be like Bob Duff. Laugh your ass off at Bob Duff, in fact.
New from me...
This was just an epic (and well-deserved) beatdown.

Ken Paxton is suing baby food companies for toxic metals found in the baby food, meanwhile James Talarico is bitching about transgenders needing abortion rights.
The choice isn’t hard.

34 followers. How can this be? Democrat policies killed this beautiful American girl.
Take note, DOJ: It’s just that easy.

If I may be so bold, Ms. Meloni, may I suggest poena cullei as an appropriate countermeasure?
The Talarico campaign has officially hired @JesseKellyDC as a campaign consultant.
Aside from this being the absolute stupidest anti-2A argument this side of “guns are only for militias,” I don’t think the Hamas Halfling is going to like it very much if we all agree that we should return America to our founding roots.
Nope. Don’t think he’d like that one bit.
I have to respectfully disagree here, even though I love @conservmillen.
Fear is a natural human instinct. A natural instinct of all animals. Without fear, we would have become extinct a long time ago.
When Jesus says, “Be not afraid,” He is not instructing people to never feel fear. He is telling them not to let fear dominate their lives because He is with them.
Should we seek out fear? People can argue both sides of that, but the desire for exhilaration, in all its forms, is also a human instinct. Would you tell Christians that they shouldn’t ride a roller coaster because we’re not supposed to be afraid?
If you have faith that Christ is with you, then there is no reason to cower from any situation that you know might cause you fear.
Now, some horror films are subversive to Christianity (Catholicism in particular), this is true. But most horror movies with a Christian theme actually reinforce the power of faith, far more than they might undermine it.
In any case, if your faith is not strong enough to survive a scary movie, then that’s something you need to fix in yourself. It’s not the movie’s fault.
Perhaps the scariest movie of all time, The Exorcist, is a testament to the power of faith. Father Karras’ faith was weak early in the book and movie. His mother’s death was testing him. But the only way he was able to save Regan in the end was by knowing, through a powerful faith renewed by witnessing her ordeal and Father Merrin’s strength, that Christ was with him, even has he sacrificed his body and life for the child.
I struggle with faith all the time. But no scary movie was ever the cause of that.
It’s Halloween season. Let people have fun. Even if their idea of fun is being briefly, safely terrified. Being able to experience fear — and come back from it — is (IMO) what Jesus really means when he says “Be not afraid.”
