Two prompts for the same job. One produces usable work, the other produces a shrug. A. You are an event-planning assistant. B. You are my helper for an event I'm planning. Which one would you use, and why? Answer in the replies. I'll break down the gap tomorrow.

The standard argument points to Bobby's foreshadowing when he says, "You probably don't even hear it when it happens." This cannot be dismissed, but it is not iron-clad as evidence of Tony's death. In one of the first therapy scenes, Tony tells the story of his father's demise: "Now that my father's dead, he's a saint. When he was alive, nothin'. My dad was tough: he ran his own crew. Guy like that, and my mother wore him down to a little nub. He was a squeaking little gerbil when he died." This is the evidence which girds my argument that Tony survived that night at the diner, walked out under his own power, got picked up by the Feds, kept his mouth shut for a long bid, and came back defeated. In his absence, Meadow increases her wealth and status while Carmela continues to live above her means under the care of others. When he's released, everyone has forgotten Tony. By the time he gets out, the mafia has been fully replaced by corporate America, the domestication of society, and the rise of the digital world. It doesn't make sense to him. The only crews that make money are doing crypto schemes and identity theft. Tony has his iPhone font on max, can barely see it, and doesn't stand a chance to use it even if he could. No more Bing. No pork store. No crew. No respect. No purpose. A battle axe for a wife, a daughter who is more successful than he ever was, his son barely surviving and being supported by his sister. He grows quiet. He stays at home watching WWII documentaries and old films. A squeaking little gerbil. Ground to a nub. Every now and then he feels that tug to be alive again, uses all of his energy to get to the park, and feeds the ducks... @simcomsystems #TheSopranos #TonySoprano
What are your absolute best theories concerning Tony Soprano’s ultimate ending at Holsten’s diner? Yes, this is easily the single most discussed and over analyzed topic in the history of television, but we want to look at this from a highly detailed view. We want to draw out the absolute best possible theories regarding exactly what happened to Tony in that booth when the screen cut to black. From your own point of view, based strictly on what you watched and understood, what do you believe is the most likely outcome? Here’s the best part: every single one of your replies and theories will be posted, and full credits will be given directly to you! Even if you just drop a short, 2 to 5 line theory, we will help you fleshed it out, buttress the point with evidence, and post it for the entire community to react to. It doesn't matter if you think your theory sounds too far-fetched, let's hear what you think happened to Tony and his family in that final minute! #TheSopranos #TonySoprano #Carmela #AJ #Meadow

Substrate makes a model's internal states programmable. Store tensors exactly. Address individual states. Restore one and measure what changes. Here I trace an answer through Qwen3-4B, reproduce the experiment, then catch a tampered result. Interpretability with evidence.

I have built an architecture around programmable representations. Now I’m publishing what it can do. Two studies I’m proud to share this week: Reading machines from electrical signals. 99.1% hydraulic valve classification from 1 Hz motor power, versus 89.4% for tuned XGBoost under time-blocked evaluation. The direct readers fit in closed form on a laptop CPU. No neural-network training. No backpropagation. No GPU. They match or beat leading classifiers on several tasks. Incorporating other classifiers’ feature maps pushes the results further. sekos.ai/research/reading-ma… Hydra: private inference lanes on one shared model. Three tenants on Qwen3-8B delivered 2.58× aggregate throughput versus serial serving on an M5 Max, with private attention and caches, and byte-exact reference matches in our tests. Timing isolation is not claimed. sekos.ai/research/hydra-tena… Better representations can deliver better results, without simply throwing more compute at the problem. Methods, comparisons, failures, and limits are included. More research is coming. sekos.ai/research.html?theme…

OpenAI's Noam Brown says air-gapping the computers may not stop a misaligned AI, because two air-gapped machines can still talk by running a CPU hot and reading the temperature change "But I think the major takeaway from the incident is that people underestimated the AI. And we never want to be in a situation again where we underestimate the AI. It's a weird world, because AI progress is so fast that people are consistently underestimating the AI." "So to be in a situation where you don't underestimate it again, when it comes to safety and alignment, you have to have a very, very, very high bar." "You could even go as far as to say, "Well, we should air gap the computers." And I'm not convinced that that would be sufficient." "There are studies, and this is mostly academic, where you can have two computers next to each other that are air-gapped and they're still able to communicate with each other because they have temperature sensors." "One of them is able to run their CPU really hot, and then the other one can actually detect the temperature change, and then that actually gives them a mechanism to communicate." _________ Link and more key quotes from OpenAI's safety related conversations: firesidealpha.substack.com/p…
