Influencer marketing has been carrying a contradiction for years. Brands keep pouring most of their budgets into large accounts, working from a comfortable premise: more reach, more results. In practice, a lot of that reach is shallow. Inflated audiences, bought engagement, and generic content. Meanwhile, small and mid-sized creators tend to be the ones who actually move the needle. They know their community, they write with intent, and they spark real conversations instead of empty impressions. The data backs this up: in 2025, micro-influencers average engagement rates two to three times higher than large accounts. The historical problem lies in the fact that the industry measures creators by the number of followers rather than by their real influence. I have been following the product side of @RallyOnChain for a while, and this week they took a step in that same direction: they opened to everyone and the waitlist is gone. The model rewards content quality over follower count, so a small account with a strong community can rank above a massive one with empty numbers. Built on that same logic, they launched Wingston, an NFT collection with a free mint. A whitelist spot is earned by taking part in Rally campaigns, and the NFT comes with a Rally Score boost. No platform is going to undo a logic the industry spent years building overnight. But direction matters.
