Building one-off tools is the best thing about software development in 2026.
we're starting to implement new tui designs in opencode of course the first thing to do is to build a design tool which lets us see the entire app at once so we can make sure everything looks good, and the old designs (which you see here) don't break

Removing "thinking traces" from the prompt and we're all good.

I thought it would be fun to create a scary game (with OpenTUI) for my kids, but now I don't know if I can let them play it...

This was one of the main reasons I wanted plugins using opentui/keymap to be this powerful.
OpenCode 2 plugins are really powerful. Vim mode has been requested for a while. Here’s a plugin that gives OpenCode more Vim functionality than any other harness out there. github.com/Tarquinen/opencod…

OpenCode has a "mini" mode where it shows a small TUI instead of the full screen one 'opencode mini'

I really don't have a use-case for it in OpenCode, but you can basically render video in modern terminals. - ffmpeg decodes movie to frames - OpenTUI draws them as kitty graphics images, synced to audio you can then create tui's like in my post.

What is this? I was curious to find out how well a frontier models and OpenCode can do history research. Turns out, pretty well. Also, the first time I've used my Bachelor in history for anything since graduating.

Do NOT watch this. Good thing I said Thursday for stream in that podcast.
I interviewed Sebastian Herrlinger (@kmdrfx) about building TUIs with Zig & Typescript! 💯 We talked about OpenTUI: the framework behind @opencode 🎬 youtube.com/watch?v=ohfWF6SA… Next up: Tris from @NoBoilerplate shows us his terminal setup on September 22! 🦀 Join our Discord: terminalcollective.org #terminal #tui #opensource #podcast #opencode #opentui

Yesterday i built a 5-gram language model of Machiavelli's Principe, Lettere, Discorsi and Istorie fiorentine, Castiglione's Cortegiano, Vasari's Vite (1550 edition), and a million characters of the papal secretariat's correspondence of 1541–44 Don't ask why
