Btw, Gakpo is not a RW and never will be. In big games how many times did you see Salah hold off a man and connect inside. It’s a trait not talked about enough but it’s vital in getting players closer to you and engineering control in a game. It’s even more vital if you have a Barcola type of winger on the other side. #LFC

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we need to find a way to balance Wirtz and Szoboszlai in this team. Both of them are quality players, but right now, it looks like they struggle to play together. We need to figure out how to get the best out of both without compromising the balance of the midfield.

If you're wondering why we lost control when Nyoni went off, watch how he slows the game down to keep Arsenal in their block. Then watch how he moves with the ball to keep the block working + find openings. Then notice how he passes in btl so it's not useless circulation.

“One of the best goal-scorers in the league is pulled back seven yards from goal, and the pull back stops him heading the ball. Why does he need to make a meal of it? VAR, do your job!”

Yesterday’s game reminded me of the last Champions League final. Arsenal’s defence was so well organised that they made Liverpool’s attackers look completely toothless, just as PSG struggled to break through that defensive resilience until Mosquera’s costly error led to a penalty.
My take: Don’t mistake a brilliant defensive performance for a poor attack. Liverpool’s attack isn’t suddenly not good enough. Yes, the officiating was questionable, but Arsenal also defended exceptionally well. Sometimes, you just have to give credit where it’s due, even when it hurts to admit it. 👏

💬 𝗤𝗨𝗢𝗧𝗘 - Florian Wirtz on if he feels his performances have been building:
“To be honest, I don't care about this so much. I just want us to win. I always want to play my best game, in the end the most important thing is that we win games.” 🇩🇪🔴

“The fact that you are even asking me if Isak should go to the floor… if he goes to the floor, they call the penalty 100%. It should be like this but it is what it is”.

Well, the only good thing about this kind of inconsistent refereeing is that it’s consistent enough to reach everybody.
And we all know who the biggest criers on this app are.
