GUH has successfully piloted an ED avoidance programme. The key goal of the programme is to decrease the number of GP referred ED presentations and navigate patients away from ED, where appropriate, to alternate urgent care pathways.

Galway University Hospitals in collaboration with @CHO2west introduce virtual healthcare for COPD patients.
The initiative will reduce the need for hospital attendance and is expected to save hundreds of bed days per year.
