Rien que la shape de Marc montre qu'il sait ce que ça veut dire bosser dur.
Inspire toi et avance au lieu de trouver des excuses. Personne va faire le taf à ta place.

Today I was a sponsor, a founder, a dad and a competitor.
All in the same building.
I'm building a software for martial arts academies. So when Stockholm BJJ Open came around, I didn't buy ads. I sponsored the event and set up a booth.
A laptop, a roll-up and a hand dynamometer.
The grip strength contest was just an excuse to get people talking. It worked. The winner squeezed 70.8 kg and walked away with a kimono
Between two grips, gym owners started asking questions.
How do you handle payments? Can parents see their kids' belts? Does the AI actually do anything useful?
By the end of the day, I had done 4 live demos. No slides. Just the product and real academies.
Then I had to put the laptop down.
My son stepped on the mat and took 3rd 🥉. Seeing him on that podium was the best moment of my day.
A few hours later, it was my turn. I took gold in my black belt division
Gym owners don't buy software from a website.
They buy from people they've seen compete, coach and lose on the same mats as them.
The trust was built before the demo even started.
This week I follow up with all 4.
I'll tell you how it goes ✌️
bref go cook
For real I’m solving martial art gym software, why I think I’m the best to do it ? I’m in this space for 18 years
I can talk about it in 10 years again, I face the problem everyday
Even bad day I’m still passionate
Vraiment pas d’accord oui sur X car les gens vendent à d’autre indie c’est normal que le mec va recoder etc mais le nombre de business qui utilisent des software vraiment pas adapté ou ancien

Booth is set
Tomorrow I’ll put my SaaS for the second timee, in front of gym owners, live, no slides.
Real feedback, face to face.
My Mac for some serious demo
And between conversations, I’m stepping on the mat to compete
1 year ago I was coding alone in my living room, wondering if gym gonna se it
Building a startup and still competing. Life is good 🥋
Tomorrow I gonna sponsor my SECOND BJJ COMPETITION in Sweden 🇸🇪
I'll have a booth to meet gym owner (my ICP), I have a partnership with a kimono brand I'll do an animation an give away some merch
Also I gonna compete there, my son also, that the dream know this niche perfectly
So proud to have an impact here, solo founders is really not a joke, specially as dad and having job aside
but im pretty confident in 5 years this SaaS will be huge ☝🏿
My entire sale game is based on @jjen_abel
in sales, i refuse to send one-pagers, presentation slides, loom videos, or other scaled collateral
three bullets crafted for them OR we’re in product together showing off the magic to whom needs to see it with a highly contextualized storyline
anything else, is too far removed from their world-view
yes, this is in enterprise sales

The main difference between e.g. Stockholm and SF right now is not technical capabilities or ambition levels
It's aggressivity
We're not aggressive enough in Europe (and the Nordics)
Instinct is a prime example
The European mind can't comprehend that a startup started by a young technical solo founder can go from zero to $30B valuation in under a year
The company raised it's inception round early this year led by Conviction, then did a couple months ago a $1B round on a $10B valuation with Sequoia and Benchmark on a $10B valuation, and now reportedly raising again at a $30B valuation
From the previous $1B round, 60% of the capital ($600M) reportedly went to compute to serve free users, as the founder refuses to make users pay yet, because it's landgrab moment
Yes, things might go to hell, that's venture
And I'm not saying we need to exactly replicate Instinct in the Nordics and Europe
But goddammit we need to become more aggressive, especially when it comes to distribution
Rant out
