Tammy Duckworth: "I’m glad you brought that up. Can you name even one ASEAN member country and explain what kind of agreement we have with it? And, while you’re at it, do you know how many countries are in ASEAN? Frankly, I’m not even sure you know who our allies are."
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth: "Well, I can’t give you the exact number, but I certainly know who our allies are: South Korea, Japan, and Australia..."
Tammy Duckworth: "None of the countries you just mentioned are members of ASEAN. I suggest you do your homework better before engaging in these kinds of discussions."

No. Truly great men changed the name for a reason. The men who won WWII. Small men want to change it to make themselves sound tough while failing to even lead the war they started. A real Secretary of War would be in the Middle East and Europe every week building a coalition, checking on the troops, and leading. Hegseth is working out, fighting the Boy Scouts, doing two camera videos in his office, hiding from the media, and going to football games. Real warriors lead.
President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth had the conviction to call us the Department of War and say it plainly: America’s military exists to deter war through strength and, if necessary, fight and win.
The President has acted. Now Congress must finish the job and enshrine the Department of War name in law.

Today, it is Kirkina Mucko.
ALT As a toddler, she fell through the ice and suffered severe frostbite on her legs. Her father was forced to ampute each leg below the knee with an axe. Inspired by the nurses at the Indian Harbour Hospital, she became one herself. She spent decades offering medical services to anyone within a 50 km radius of her property.
